I know there's virtually no chance of this sort of thing happening, but the idea came to me as I was making dinner (and was probably influenced as I was making it).

It just struck me that it would be a really cool idea if we could have a "Dinner Impossible" Grand Banquet at Fan Faire.

Regretfully, I don't know anyone at Food Network who to spring this idea on, and I doubt it could be done... But it just struck me as it might be fun to see on TV sometime next winter Robert challenged to make a dinner for the Fan Faire attendees, making dishes 'themed' to SOE's games... Maybe with Brasse being one of the ones to give him a clue or tell him what the challenge is.  (Plus it'd be a huge amount of advertising for SOE and its games. SMILEY )

Oh well, back to cooking my own very possible dinner for myself.

Love this idea!  I don't know how possible it is but I love it!  I passed it on to those that organize Fan Faire and I also passed it on to those that write the live quests.  So even if it doesn't pan out for real we might be able to pretend right?

If Brasse gave him a challenge, it would be, "Forget the food. Fill us up with beer!" SMILEY

Instead of buffet, each attendee could receive a Misty Thicket Picnic to munch on.

Half an hour with Mr. Boston's Bartender's Guide and my Provi, I could hook that up quick!

i am a chef ash, and while i do not wish to cook while on my vacation i can answer some questions - your legal office would probably rule out the option of fan participation because of the use of knives and fire but seeing staff members have to try and make stuff would be funny to watch however if you could get baileys to pay me to tell the chefs there what to make i would galdly do that SMILEY

What a great idea. And while we are on the subject of food. Most of us were really disappointed at the lack of a birthday cake last year. It's not too late to make amends. FV popping out of a cake and slices or cupcakes for us all would surely do the trick.

If they sign on the correct wavers and such I bet real cooking could be done. However, who says that people have to really cook for a live event, last I heard making EQ1 Brownies is kinda violant.

While most of the time he seems to cook for around 500, he has had a few challenges in the thousand+ range, so it probably isn't that big a deal. If it is possible, I'm sure SOE, Ballys and Food Network would be working out all the details. (And if it isn't possible for Fan Faire, it may be possible for SOE's Open House during Comic Con, but I'd still love to see Fan Faire Impossible. SMILEY )

I doupt it would be possable for this Fan Faire even if SoE and Food Network get on the same page, as it takes time to get all the clearances and such, and ofcourse it has to fit into FN's filming Scedule as well.

A future Fan Faire might be more possable, if SoE can get a Firm date much farther out then they currently do.

As for the numbers, I have seen some where he has cooked for upto 3 or 4k, so the numbers won't be the issue, in fact it would likly not even be a major part of the challange, it will be the Themes of the games or cooking with players that would be the major part of the challange.

Ha!  Raijinn and I were just talking about this the other day!  Our other idea would be to have Charm City Cakes (aka Ace of Cakes) do a cake for FF.  I actually do have a contact there, so it would probably be doable.

If they can ship it out to Vegas from Baltimore...that is kinda a long trip for cake...though they have done it befor, but it was a much bigger event, the Harry Potter Premire.

They do cakes all over, they'd probably just do the detailed stuff in Baltimore and then make the actual cake in Vegas.
