mm seems to b working well for me, i solo a lot and have around 80 essences, are you tanking the giants as the chance to summon the essence is related to when you get hit, the more you get hit the more chance of summoning them.

Hope this helps

I have 23 essences (just turned 26) so it is obviously working. You only trigger them when you are hit (and only occasionally at that) and, since I ward myself regularly, I tend not to get hit, at least when I am soloing. Lately, I have been leaving my ward off more often so that I can take some hits and generate essences.Am I correct in assuming that, if I am warded, I won't generate essences?

It looks to work that way to me. After level 30 I started thinking of Faithful Zeal as a one hit wonder as the damage from the first hit I take usually overwhelms the ward so when soloing I only use it at the start of a fight. The 10 minute timer on the Blessing seems to help since I keep it up most of the time now instead of wasting time before a fight buffing myself. Last night in 3 hours of soloing white mobs I gained 23 essences. It also seems to proc more often when you take a higher damage hit, meaning that killing greens and blues which don't hit hard or often I gain few essences while fighting whites and oranges I gain more since I'm hit more and harder.

I've noticed a few people who cast blessing, fight green mobs while warding themselves constantly, then wonder why they don't get the essence.  The more you get hit, the better chance you have of getting an essence.

I swear I think you get more essences are you level up too.  When I first got this spell, and got so few.  Now, at level 29, I get them all the time.

I have 100 from prepatch I don't need.  Used to see them sell for 83c now they are no-value.

Not a big nerf but another tiny stab in the back.  83c really bothered someone.

Due to the timer on that heal I have more than I can use.  Need to destroy em now.

The spell itself reads that there is only a 1% chance of receiving an essence and that is only if you are getting hit while using the spell.  Keep it up at all times and fight mobs that don't require you to keep your ward up and you will start seeing these in your inventory.  In game you will see a red flash around your character and for me (a dwarf) the animation as it happens has me throw my arms back and up, like I am trying to balance myself if I were to start falling over backwards.
