I am level 22 currently and there seems to be a general lack of good paladin weapons in the lower 20's.  I am still using my Pristine blackened iron long sword that I have been using since level 17.  It is blue, but still better than any of the carbonite weapons.  The carbonite flamege and long sword are getting closing to being better though.

I am pretty sure not all paladins have a blackened iron sword, so what are you using?

PS.  I tried using the paladin 2hander, it is not my thing... rather be stick and board.

I used Delacar's up until it went blue last level for my two hander. I actually use club and board when I'm tanking - keep my crushing skill up, and the weapon (some kind of pristine club, it's yellow to me, I forget the name) isn't too bad. 12-50 damage with 1.8 delay (same delay as the paladin two hander, actually).  I like to switch to two handed when I'm solo - using a pristine forged carbonite thingy now.  But then again I'm notoriously cheap, and tend to cling to the same armor/weapons for several levels at a time. Grain of salt.

Dwarven sword of Cleansing, a nice longsword with a devine proc for undead. Goes well with my storm shield when I tank also.
I do occasionally us a Pristine Carbonite Great Sword if I want to like easy solo mobs quickly, but once it gets to the tough green++'s the shield comes back out

I used Aurora's Mace of Blessings for a long time. Forget the fact that it will con blue to you by mid 20s, just look at the stats. It compares well to pristine forged carb 1-handers and is fairly plentiful on the brokers. It also happens to look like a giant vorpal cheeto as you swing it in battle, but you can't have everything.

I saw a Sword of Cleansing on the broker for 1g once.  Wish I had the gold at the time.  I am not paying 5g+ now.

I have access to Firemyst, I prolly should get a few people together and get my own.

The carbonite Flambege is most likely going to be my next sword.  I keep trying to get my crushing skill up (currently 40ish) but I hit like a 100 year old granny with a hammer in hand, even on greys.

I went into firemyst at 23 with a swashbuckler and templar, and we didn't have any problem going through it. I've been enjoying my sword of cleansing ever since. The biggest key to surviving is to dig up all the graves beforehand. Stay away from the tower until you've done this, or expect to become zombie fodder.

Berik's and then Weakened Ghoulbane, and for 2H I used a Pristine Forged Steel Greatsword.

Now, at 37, its Ghoulbane and PF Feyiron Greatsword.  For now.. SMILEY

Hmm I am 21 pally now and thought I missed my chance at Firemyst. Do you need one member to be less than 21 for the content to be there?

Check out steel morning star, a drop from stormhold. This is the best 1h from 20-26 that I have seen, and it doesn't seem to be hard to get.

Being a weaponsmith, this discussion saddens me. Nearly everybody goes for common loot drops, and camps even green mobs for them, because they are better than what I can forge. I do the same and don't blame anyone but Sony. They screwed this bigtime.

Personally, I used a Berik's.  However, considering the rarity and high demand for this item, you might not consider this such a feasible option.

What's your price range?  A steel weapon (crafted, not dropped) would be the top of the line in terms of stats and damage, but steel clusters are very expensive (I wish I had kept mine).  Steel dropped weapons are not bad either, as they have good stats and require less skill than the crafted line, though are not close in terms of damage output.  After that, crafted carbonite weapons are not too far behind in the damage department, although as you noticed, you will need more skill before they are better than your blackened iron sword.  Other quested weapons won't match up to it; even the Dwarven Sword of Cleansing will be a bit too low level for you soon.

I use Berik and Starfall myself and prefer them over all I can forge. Steel clusters are rare and if they sell at all, it's usually for at least 10-12g. I have 2 steels in the bank. I was planning to forge a weapon for myself, but then I found Starfall and soon after a friend gave me the Berik quest, so there was no need to forge a steel weapon anymore.

My tier 3 weapons were priced in the range between 20s and 60s depending on type and quality, although after a short period I ceased to sell "normal" forged weapons, so only pristines remained on the broker. I think this is not too expensive. Even a level 20 adventurer can get that together in an evening in Stormhold or the Thundering Steppes. That aside, I can't complain about not selling weapons. I spent many weeks in the forge to level my tradeskills over the average level of the bulk of active adventurers (which is mid-20s at the moment, I believe). This made me still able to make a living with weapons. But the weaponsmithes behind me will find a saturated market, since the whole system is fundamentally broken.

Tier 4 will be much worse. I am level 28 and spent only 2 evenings in Zek and the Enchanted Lands, but I already found 3 nice tier 4 weapons dropped from mobs or easily quested. I don't have the slightest illusion to sell even a single tier 4 weapon.

Berek if you can get it... but easier is Starfall, which has pretty decent stats and good damage as a one handed, and the quest is fairly good exp with what you have to kill. Its also fairly easy to get just killing skellies for the AQs and whatnot. If you harvest a lot, or have some gold to through around, I also suggest getting a good 2 hander if you group with other tanks and are often support tank or dps (which we can do alright as!), I ended up getting a pristine forged steel great sword.. and that thing put out some nice dps all the way up to level 30 SMILEY Starfall and the greatsword were my two weapons from early 20's-30.

Since i'm a weaponsmith, i've been able to make the weapons i use.  I use a pristine forged steel longsword and greatsword.  I'm thinking about making a pristine forged steel battle hammer also, can't neglect my 1hb.
