simple solution to our aggro problem that is becoming more apparent day by day. soe says that we are "working as intended" and that we gain some of our hate through our hate over time taunts, unlike the direct approach of the other fighters

however I think it would really help alot if our aoe dots, the unending pain and death cloud line, gave maybe around 40 hate (more or less) every time they proc/went off. I mean it makes perfect sense! currently they do give us a little hate because they are deasiese damage spells, but this clearly isnt enough.

I think this would work great because 1.) after all the mobs should be mad they've literally been poisened by or dots, and over time that would really anger anybody, its kinda like an annoying reoccuring rash. 2.) it goes with the whole sk's have hate over time taunts. 3) its such a small amount that it should not steal aggro from the mt if we are off-tanking and using these spells, but its enough that if we were the mt it could help considerably. 4.) its a simple solution to an old problem, it probably wouldnt be hard for the devs to code the aoes with a little extra hate. and it would satisfy alot of sk's and make us very thankful

anybody esle think this is a good idea?? I mean its a simple solution that is straight to the point and makes perfect sense.

I'm still fond of the idea of adding hate gen to our Hunger / Aura line of spells (my suggestions posted here) :smileytongue:

As they're not encounter AEs, I don't think it's the correct solution. I don't want to risk pulling extra encounters because I need some extra taunt.

The AEs are ok as taunts if your group is assisting you. Then you'll be the only one doing damage, and hence aggro, to the mobs in AE.

actually you really dont risk pulling other mobs from aoe dot taunts, because whether or not your aoe's generate aggro, if they hit another group, they are still gonna add either way. besides, this way if you do add with an aoe dot tuant,  at least the group you added is building hate on you slowly instead of the warlock who will probably aoe and is slowly gaining hate also (aoe tuants? is that we are calling them now?)

anyways if you are fighting a solo herioc mob, then you probably wont be using your aoe;s anyways because of the risk of wandering other groups, however if that mob was isolated, it would be still be some nice extra hate over time. (hate over time aoe dots, thats what I think I will call them)

as long as you are cafeful with your aoe's you should be fine, any sk past 30 has learned that lesson already (maybe even some lower) aoe control is something most all casters must learn, and you will get more respect for knowing when to use them.
