Do shadowknights get their sub-class quest reward after finishing the quest or after hitting 20?

Before folks jump all over this question, let me 'splain why I'm asking. I think its possible that my character might be bugged and that I've completely lost the quest reward window. The last few quests I've done, I dont remember receiving anything material in return (coin, items, whatever) and I did the SK Serp Sewer encounter last night and talked to Capt M, but didnt receive anything but the flashy screen and the flavor text. I didnt even think about it at the time, but I'm curious if Im bugged or if I just need to hit 20 to get my rewards.

Any help would be appreciated.

You get the reward (Shadowblade of Zeal) as soon as you complete the quest, but won't be able to equip it until you hit 20 and have the requisite Sword skill.

 

If you're not getting the quest reward window, it is either:

a) a bug with your character

b) You have the flashing "+" icon in the lower right and you need to select a racial tradition, then you'll get your quest reward

or

c) I have no idea

 

Most likely it's b), but there's always weird things that happen.

I could equip mine before I got 20th - was at least halfway through 19 though and the skill points are staggered through the level.

Ya to bad i never used it since i quested the skull crusher. It's a shame that we get a crapy sword.  The skull Crusher has  way better stats in: damage and lvl to use.  SOE gives us a sword that gives int not wis go figure lol.. and a 1 hander at that. Pallies get a nice 2 hander just another way we evil doers get shafted.

Yeah, my mistake.  I forgot that you have the requisite sword skill before you reach 20...  Xilith is absolutely correct.

ive had a similar problem with quest rewards, sometimes they say they gave u something yet no reward window appears.

 

ive also experienced the trait option delaying rewards being granted so ive looked out for it and recently it hasnt been blocked by that yet ive still been getting no rewards.

 

My best example is the potion making quest in the x roads- u speak to the woman after killen the wisps for here and she says "here is your reward" sets u a follow up quest and no reward window appears.

 

Now EITHER its a bug with the rewards or (and this i believe to be more likely) the text displayed by some NPCs is wrong. This has also happened with vocals- they say something completely different to what is written in their speech bubble... oh well, its still a great game

Some quests simply are not rewarding properly. Varski for example on Part 2 of his series of quests informs you he is giving you a crown, but the quest reward is just coin.

 

The only time I've experienced an actual bug with quest rewards was when I had not selected a trait. Selecting a trait made each of my quest rewards pop up one after another without a problem.
