So at the end of 'KA: History in Stone', you are told that you are welcome in N'C for the time being. However, all the citizens/guards are still KOS, and I can't accept the quests now showing because I don't know Cae'Dal. Obviously I need the collection to learn Cae'Dal, just 2 more pieces, but I can't pick up any pieces in N'C because of the KoS thing. I'm not sure if I'm missing a quest, if these NPCs are meant to be friendly now after that quest or not? If it is intended that they are still KOS, then why? It doesn't seem to make sense after being told you are tentatively welcome.
I'm sure others have mentioned a TS quest that gives you faction. I'm doing just the adventure questline only at the moment so haven't 'officially' gone over to OF in a TS capacity yet, as these things should be independent of each other. I shouldn't need to do a TS quest to not be attacked there, there should be something in adventure that allows me to not be smacked every time I go near the place. Edit: Also, when you are killed in N'C, you respawn right on top of some aggro goblin mobs between Twark and the Crypt of Dalnir. That's also not helpful. |

If it helps, the quest from Taelonar (down in the gardens) is what you are looking for. While it is labeled as "tradeskill", you don't need to be a crafter...in fact, I did it on my adventurer before ever starting any of the tradeskill timeline (I happened to see the feather as I was running around during the signature line and didn't even realize it was considered tradeskill).
I'm not sure at what point he becomes available, but keep an eye out for him at the edge of the garden. Don't let the tradeskill label mislead, it's a useful quest for faction for everyone. (Obligatory "this is beta, so something may have changed since I did it" disclaimer.) |

Okay, so completing 'Growth in an Arid Land' gave me enough rep to not be KoS, however, I did have to dodge a guard close to the quest giver to do that quest. It's not really optimum when you are narratively told you are welcome.
