I dont know how many of you feel the same way... but i am tired of the look of brawler armor. yeah, i know Mayong has the gi that we have all been waiting for... but thats ONE gi. what i am tired of is the armor models of all of our current leggings and shoulders from kos and eof. i was hoping so baddly that the gear in eof would be improved but the picture someone posted of the scrapper leggings from freethinkers extinguished that flicker of hope... the current gear is by NO MEANS what a martial artist/monk would wear... maybe a clown... or, rather... a bruiser. but NOT a monk. what would fit our class is either old eq1 style gear, like a robe, or just alter the current models so that they dont have those ridiculous flaps that would get in the way of full body movement and the thick, ugly shoulder armor.... what i am wearing in the picture is gear that is by no means wearable for the stats... but they are examples of how armor that fits our class should look... does anyone else agree??

![]() Hey when you get a club to the crotch, you'll be thankful the skirt was there to absorb it. BTW what is that weapon you have there? Message Edited by Cusashorn on 01-12-2007 12:27 AM |

What I wish is that only the chestpiece determined what the outfit looked like, the way Gi works. That way you could go for style with the chestpiece and stats with everything else and not fear looking stupid.

![]() First off, if the EQ monk is based off the Buddhist monk in real life, then why dont' we wear orange shrouds? 2nd. The body doesn't work that way. You can mentally discipline yourself to ignore pain, but keep telling yourself that pain is only an illusion when you black out from the shock.

![]() well i for one dont think the bakers apron fits a monks dress code by any stretch of the imagination... and when there is a piece for us... that might be passable the stats on it are such a joke that ... its not worth wearing.... or u end up being the joke of the whole server....the soe developers especially the designers of the clothing ... specifically the monk clothing REEEEEEEEAAAAAALLLLY DROPPED the ball on this one... i mean even our hat that is supposed to be the bamboo rice picker hat... is laughable with the pull down earflaps .... IT LOOKS LIKE A CROSS BETWEEN AN ACTUAL ORIENTAL MONK STYLE HELM AND A cold weather cap u see in that movie fargo... with the hey dere ... the foot gear is no better the shoulders are no where near acceptable, the chest while pretty barely passes as anything close to monk gear, the gloves and wrists are not worth commenting on and the legs with the bakers apron.... is like soe is spitting in our face...... so when are they gonna stop dressing us up to look like idiots??? oooooh when VANGUARD comes out and takes 30-40% of the eq2 population... like when WOW and others have come out, ONLY then did they make needed changes...... oh and btw... soe if u are reading this.... stop making every piece of armor look like every other one.... OH AND ONE MORE THING ... JUST CUZ U PUT FLOWERS ON THE KNEES, ELBOWS, AND BELT BUCKLE doesnt make it look more oriental in flavor.... this isnt DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS and we are not GRANDMASTERS OF THE FLOWERS!!!!!

Id have to agree with the chestpiece idea above, would be nice that monks just normally wear Gis for there chest look the only gear i can think of that looks good and has good stats are the monks pvp gear, but it takes like 3000 tokens and like 3 plat each

The EQ monk is clearly based on shaolin monks.... I think our Armor is terrible for the most part, The sandal graphic which is barely ever used is nice and looks monkish, and the ashen gi looks pretty nice and i like our hats, but the rest is god awful. The [Removed for Content] gi was the worst looking thing they ever put in this game and they just keep using it over and over, and now they just retextured it and called it a new gi in eof....pisses me off so bad. Our Relic gear looks awful, why are we covered in metal studs? and wearing skirts? makes no sense to me. Leggings of the Master that drop off the Matron have the relic look but with the skirt removed and it looks pretty decent, i dont know why they didnt just make all the monk pants look that way. |

i am not necessarily saying that we need more gis or anyhting, i am mainly just wanting our "mudflaps" removed. >.< they look terrible... and, they look worse on ratonga than any other class... lol. ALso, yes... eq2 monks ARE modeled after bhudist monks... specifically the monks of the Shaolin Monastery. look it up =P

![]() You've got it wrong... They aren't SKIRTS, they are KILTS, we are NOT modeled after the Shaolin monks, we are modeled after the Scottish monks of the Highlands. They aere a very rare but deadly group. |
