Lessons from a Legendary Raid Leader on How to Motivate the Raid!

Hello folks!

Had to share this with you raiding monks out there.

There is a legendary raid leader on WoW who has a special way of leading a raid that is...well...it is damned funny! :smileyvery-happy:

The website below is the approximately 5 minute illustrated Vent Chat that was recorded from a raid on an epic dragon named Onyxia. Onyxia requires a 40 person raid. She is in a big cave with two smaller caves off to either side that contain eggs. If someone gets too close to the small eggs, they will hatch whelps that will attack the raid. This is not desirable.

**WARNING**

Beware that a lot of his words should have been haxxor'd by Raijin, but were not, so if you are offended by swearing, DO NOT WATCH THIS VIDEO! Oh, and definitely do not watch it at work where co-workers might overhear. It is...intense *grin*.

I've seen this recording before and I agree, it's extremely funny! I thought it was a joke though, but it seems this is a real recording of that raid leader? If this is real, then it's more sad than funny though... I mean that guy absolutely freaks out about... a game. :smileyvery-happy:

While I admit form time ot time I have flipped my lid on a raid, this dude takes the cake. What I wanna know is, who in their right mind would keep raiding with a dude like that. hehe hes gonna have a heart attack letting himself get cooked to a frenzy liek that so much..

*chuckle* I agree that this guy takes the game waaaaay too seriously.

In contrast, my usual raid leader is so laid back and laconic that he is just this side of unconscious *huge grin*

The spooky thing is, I recognize the name of one of the dead people who is dead in the wrong spot in the second Vent recording! Very surprised, thought she had better taste then that.

I guess I can understand it to a degree: While I would not want to be in this guy's guild long term, it would be fun to attend a few of his raids just to witness the humor first hand.

"Now don't F-ing make me get mad at you. I am F-ing 39 degrees temperature...Oh, mad is when I start F-ing guild kicking people. I have done it before."

To think he was not mad! I was laughing so hard at this point that I was almost in tears.

Some people does not admit, but they really need serious proffessional help and support groups to recover.

I strongly believe there is way too much of "this guy" types in EQ2 and all other games.

I just wanted to reply to this post and explain what's going on with this guy:- first, as you could see on his server boards, all the guild was laughing like crazy when he went rampage, no one took him as seriously as an outsider would.- second: you cannot possibly imagine the amount of e-[expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] populating wow, even at high end, really, reading their boards does no justice to the incredible drop in IQ you will suffer by trying to communicate with a good 70% of the population. I played that game for 1 year, but everytime I ended in a pickup group, I managed to /kick /ignore a good portion of the randoms I invited for sheer stupidity, I'm not talking about playing skills, those are the least of the problems here, we're talking about total idiocy in regard to every human aspect concerning socialization, even speech was endangered, no matter the language. I guess that some stuff like this is probably necessary to raid in a random guild.Anyway, I followed this thing when it was fresh and new on the wow forums, and a lot of his guildmembers defended him 100% for this and that reason. Was funny stuff btw and the flash animation is priceless SMILEY
