Hi,

I am just wondering where am I going wrong in PvP.......I just seem to be killed for 80% of my time vs people of my level.

I am a lvl 31 Monk and dont seem to be able kill anyone my level.....especially shadowKnights who easily kill me.  The SK still has aout 50% health left by the time I am dead.

Am I to stick with this toon because I should become a bit more equal on later levels or are monks just not that good in PvP.  I know it might be me a little because I have never been a world beater in PvP in any game played but always done OK and not been outdoen by as much as I seem to be now esepcially against these SK's.  Or do I re-roll another toon....

Please help or give me confidence that I will become better or tips where I can be helped..

Cheers
Vrost

I must be a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] to have missed this thread when I posted last night SMILEY Anyway lol..

SK's don't just purely do melee damage, their spells are mostly disease damage which means we can't dodge their attacks aswell.

If you're losing to other classes then you need to time your stuns a bit better and remember that your group taunt is an interupt so watch for mages / healers casting.

I have a lvl 67 Monk on Mistmoore and just started a pvp assassin.

Monks are a serious foe to reckon with if you do the following:

1) Gear, you need to get the best gear you possibly can. Also, max your str as much as possible, agility does not do much for a monk these days. Gives you a bit more avoidance, but not much. Sta is key as well.

2) Use your interupt taunt at key times, also your stuns are critical. If you stun right off the bat the enemy should never get a chance to hit you. Stun, then move to his back, use your big gun. Stun again, take his back, then next big gun, etc.

The key is to learn to time your stuns and know when your opponent is going to cast.  If you do your stuns right, brawlers are almost unbeatable under most circumstances against most classes.  SKs are pretty tough though, you shouldn't be able to beat a well played one every time.

Vrost, I play a monk on Venekor.  I'm not getting killed 80% of the time.  In fact, most classes run from me if it's a 1 on 1 fight.  My big frustration is that we don't really have a way to stop the runners. However, SK's do give me probably the hardest time of any class.  The damage shields and reactive heals they give themselves are death.  If you can, try switching to a 2 hander for any SK's or Furies you're fighting.
