In my humble opinion, pvp was the best: Before BG's, when for most levels pvp gear was missing or pretty crappy and MC was the best except for a piece here or there you found in a dungeon that might be slightly better, AA was capped at 1.5x your level and could only be obtained from killing named/quests, you could pvp at level 10 without city rules, and probably most importantly, there were people EVERYWHERE. Ironically, people being everywhere depended on most of those things not changing.

Oh the good old days...

The best PvP I've ever had in EQ2 since KoS launch has been balanced T4 Ganak matches with 160AA cap. Of course, I played a sk/illy

I remember the thrill when I went to pvp with EQ2. Hitting level 9 on Chikori Island, fighting pirates and looking over my shoulder and watching my level. There was usually someone there waiting. The many characters I made, I won some and lost some turning 10. Getting to 12 so I could get MC gear and answer the calls for help from Darklight woods or the caves in Qeynos. Watching out for the guards or try to lure the opponents near a guard. So many times I got slammed by a guard when not watching!

So many times in DLWs, Qs waiting at the Nek zone in, gathering their forces while we waited at wunderlust fair. Charge!

It was so hard to get the 3 pieces of pvp jewellery, just having one was something  to brag about.

As I leveled up and was new to an area, I remember running from the docks over to the griffen on the farside to the left or waiting for travelings doing the same thing.

I remember when I was early 30s and there was a 60 waiting for someoene on the ramp up to the top of BBMs, I would use my knock back to knock him off the ledge, he was agro to me until he came back up the ramp. Agro would be over lol

I rememeber I  was on the Q side questing in antonica when a group of 4 starting hunting me down. I climbed up the mountain where the gnolls were by North Qeynos gate by the aquaduct, it was hard to climb but I did it, it too them awhile to do it too. I climbed higher only to fall through the map, I had feather fall, so 4 of them zoomed past me under the world. I zoned back in at the North Qeynos gate happily to find 4 chests waiting for me because the guard thumped all 4 muh haha ha

That was in the ROK days, you earned your limited pvp stuff, you traveled the long way, there was no warfields, no BGs, limited mounts. You quested in the open with risk of getting into a fight. It promoted grouping, if you soloed like me, well you then take your lumps. But then there were times when I took on more than one and won!

sigh good times

haha well best pvp i've had was ganak but best pvp memories would have to be hiding inside the log in archer's woods tracking Qs running by.

Epic wilds 6v6 that happened in RE.

Hiding stealted behind the giant tree just SE of nq gate thinking we were all sneaky... when I realized we both had these Slayer Malevolence Whatever Hunter of Orcs (AFK) tags above our heads, idk why but we found that ridiculous lolz at the time... prob had to be there though.

Two of us rolling some yellow - orange group of 3 or 4 pulling blood talon... then we took their mob obviously. They ran back, and we rolled them again and had a good laugh.

Epic battles in Fallen Gate.

... and being one of the first players on the server waiting at launch. There were like 14 instances or something like that of isle of the overlord. I think I was on 7 lol.. but hard to remember. I remember the crazy rush to level 10 and trying desperately to come up with silvers to buy some vendor trash off the merchants. I think I contributed 10s to forming the guild Ebonlore lol... And I remember the first Q I ever saw, ran over to CL at level 10. People were exploiting the 6g frog quest in TT. Dedicated crafters trying to gear out their guilds, trying to get advanced recipes, out harvesting everywhere.

And my partner in crime... shok/roofio/decimiss and the guild wargasmx... good times wish I could go back.

Good stuff. I always had a good time sneaking up to the Caves in Ant, rushing in and killing all the Q's. Then watching them sit at the guard, us trying to pick them off and vic versa with arrows and spells, knowing that more Q's were incoming any minute, but hopefully more freeps were too. Calling in higher levels to take out the guards so we could then have an all out battle. Zone hoping back and forth when you knew you were screwed. Dying to the guard and having to respawn all the way outside.

The huge battles that would turn up in Darklight wood. That was such and awesome battle ground sometimes.

Flying the griffons around antonica, Cl and Thundering steppes, Butcherblock, waiting for that Q to pop up on radar so you could hop off!

The constant battles in Fallen Gate and Stormhold. Running a dungeon all the way down only to turn the corner and find a full group of opposing players and all out battle ensuing.

Sneaking through the Ferrott, hoping to find a soul or two who dared to quest there.

Enchanted Lands, Nek docks, SS docks, Zek, Everfrost, there was always enimies somewhere to fight...oh so many fun nights.

i remember years ago on venekor, i played a low lvl defiler (zyone), i used to sit around the griffon tower off ant docks, waiting for Q's to come out. back then all levels had to travel through ant to get anywhere. i would try my hand at reds and win some and lose some. i remember fighting level conns and winning then they would come back with more and i would win again, until the Q's were overwhelming, then i would hit the water and run on the bottom while the Q's swam after me. i would get them spread out then turn and kill the nearest one then the next as they swam up.  good times. noone played a defiler for pvp back then, was great.

Having the Thundering Steppes griffon station in Antonica as a bottleneck was one of the most successful & memorable incentive to PvP.

That spot truly was a very hectic & active point of congestion & simplifying travel really ruined things terribly.

One of the things that shocked me most after taking a several month break was zoning into SS docks and finding it empty. I used to spend half my time logged in pvping there.

PvP on Darathar the community there was amazing, we had wars with other guilds while still being friendly and respectful with each other. Even had alts of freeps within The Circle that would log on just to talk for awhile like Fluffyduck. Meeting Zenadac who somehow made a monk named Fluffypaws stealing my last name and also being my go to person for messing around and doing stupid things.Lowbie City PvP on an exiled and locked lowbie coercer before they got changed was extremely fun. Nothing like watching people kill themselves while you stand there somewhat innocently in Willow Wood. Ranger City PvP by baiting people into flagging themselves then going to the roof tops to pew pew is also up there. In general there are a lot of City PvP stories over the years ranging making a raid force that was forming chase us around for 30 minutes before they left for the instance or playing the bait game with either Fluffypaws or Sharing while one of us stood on a roof top. If there was any stat I cared for it was the City Kills just because they brought great stories to go with them.

That griff station in TS was crazy and so was the dock. My favorite times would be the pvp in Loping when guilds tried a crack at the PHH or keeping people from getting to their Labs raid if they fell behind in Bonemire.

Oh, ya, those were good days. So many epic battles.

But I'm glad they're gone. Don't have time for that sh** anymore.
