![]() Change Platinum to Silver. Change Gold to Copper. Remove all Silver (only will remove 99 from each character, not a big deal.) Remove all Current Copper. (only will remove 99 from each character, not a big deal.) This way Platinum will be as rare as its intended, Zones that dropped Platinum will drop Silver instead, and players with 1 platinum coin should be considered rich. |

![]() Just curious, why does it need to be rare? And the money system's been like this since EQ1, they'd have to change it there too.

![]() Can always spread it between alts, spend it, delete it, tile your walls with it.. They'd have to change mechanics for both EQ1 and EQ2, plus all the quests that give money as rewards, body drops.. you're talking about a huge change.

![]() Still curious. How does this impact people other than yourself? The economy? The game at large?

it would make Copper/Silver/Gold worth something again. basicly 1 silver will be 1 plat, 1 gold will be 100 plat, 1 plat will be 1000p. |

While I do not see a need for it, I can understand the angle.EQ2 has a currency system with four denominations, being plat, gold, silver, copper. Outside of a newbie who is fresh off the blocks, silver has almost no value, and copper is just a joke. The proposed idea would bring relevancy back to copper+silver as actively used denominations, gold would be used for the big purchases, and platinum would be something to aspire to.It makes sense, but I would hate to see SOE try to implement it, so my vote is no.

![]() As much as it pains me to say this, it really isn't a horrible idea especially looking at it from a new players point of view, however SoE would fail to implent this properly, so my vote is no. |

![]() There are probably better ways to revalue plat. I agree, copper has never been worth anything, even in the first weeks of playing EQ2 it was silver that was being rewarded (kill 10 rats for a few sp). Copper was worthless even back then, except to PAY for very low value items. It's still used to pay for low value items, but is useful for only the first few hours for a newbie character. To revalue plat it needs to be spent, so just add something to the economy to buy that soaks up the plat. People might drop hundreds of plat auction on items, but that plat just moves to another player. There need to be high value items, which people will want to buy, to remove the plat out of the economy.

![]() Its not that, its just if they turned all the platinum into silver/all zones drop silver instead of plat, it would make the game alot better. Lowering the cost of armor repair/all that jazz. Lowering the cost of horses/all that jazz. If you turned all current plat into silver, then you could have a system where you would have to PAY the bank to turn your silver into gold, then your gold into platinum. 1 Platinum Piece (1000p) would be VERY rare. 1 Gold (100p) would be more common. It would make Silver/Gold/Copper have a much more realistic value, and help new players out ALOT. |

...but hopefully not in that order, otherwise all money will be wiped from the game. I remember when platinum was rare, and I don't see any point artificially returning to it. Mudflation happens; it's even more obvious over in EQ1. Adding larger currency and removing smaller currency does absolutely nothing about anything. It's not as if the existence of the other coins somehow devalues the platinum, or that adding some larger-than-platinum coin will in any way rebalance the economy. |

I honestly can't follow your reasoning on this. Silver becomes platinum, and the "new" gold and platinum is measured in large amounts of what used to be platinum. So what actually changes except that instead of having 1001pp in their banks, people now have 1pp, 1 silver? And what about the early parts of the game where gold and silver actually do come into play? I recently started entirely from scratch, and I was certainly counting my gold coins for a decent stretch of time. |

![]() Its not doing anything but raising the bar/renaming things. Copper = Nothing. (Players with any amount of copper will be awarded a new copper piece.) Silver = Nothing. (Players with any amount of silver will be awarded a new copper piece.) Gold = the new copper. Platinum = the new silver. All quests must award atleast 1 copper, body drops of copper will be much rarer, trash drops must atleast sell for 1 copper. No, players with 1001p will have 1001 silver, you have to pay the bank to turn it into gold, then pay the bank to turn the gold into platinum. |

But why would anyone pay to do this? If I have five $10 notes and want to buy something that costs $50, I'm not going to pay my bank to turn it into a $50 note; I'm just going to use my five $10 notes. They're both of equal monetary value. If the coins are very rare and cost money to exchange to, then you won't diversify the economy: people will simply not use those coins. If the coins are not rare, then mudflation will guarantee that eventually the highest coin becomes the standard unit of currency again. It seems like a huge undertaking for no ultimate gain. |

It's a commendable goal but Mastercrafted armour is not going to change in value just because the face value of the currency is different; those prices are based on demand and materials. |

![]() Nothing will change in value at all, it will just make things easier for new players, and with this, questing will become valuable again, questing will be a good source of money. The main focus would be to make things less rediculous and help newer players, with the current value of things its very hard to even get a set of armor, mastercrafted costs 5p-7p, reasonable prices for current players, but for new players... Those big numbers are intimidating, especially when quests award 1 silver/23 coppers... This way soloing OOA will only get you 7-15 Silver... Soloing Shard of Hate will only get you about 40-60 Silver...ect Doing a level 90+ quest should give you 10-200 Silver Per Quest done. (depending on difficulty [Solo/Heroic/Raid.]) 80-89 Quests should be 9-180 Silver Per Quest done. (depending on difficulty [Solo/Heroic/Raid.]) 70-79 Quests should be 8 - 160 Heroic Silver Per Quest done. (depending on difficulty [Solo/Heroic/Raid.]) 60-69 Quests should be 7 - 140 Heroic Silver Per Quest done. (depending on difficulty [Solo/Heroic/Raid.]) 50-59 Quests should be 6 - 120 Silver Per Quest done. (depending on difficulty [Solo/Heroic/Raid.]) 40-49 Quests should be 5 - 50 Silver Per Quest done. (depending on difficulty [Solo/Heroic/Raid.]) 30-39 Quests should be 4 - 80 Silver Per Quest done. (depending on difficulty [Solo/Heroic/Raid.]) 20-29 Quests should be 3 - 60 Silver Per Quest done. (depending on difficulty [Solo/Heroic/Raid.]) 10-19 Quests should be 2 - 40 Silver Per Quest done. (depending on difficulty [Solo/Heroic/Raid.]) 1 - 9 Quests should be 100-300 Copper Per quest done. (depending on difficulty [Solo/Heroic/Raid.]) Doing a level 90+ Quest should give ya the same amount of silver soloing OOA would. Raid difficulty quests would give you closer to the maximum number of silver, while heroic quests would give between the bigger and smaller number. Yes, with that reasoning, doing a hard raid skyshrine quest could give you up to 200 platinum. (current value.) but remember you can only do it once. |

![]() I wish you'd stop ruining math. 1 gold == 100 silver. 1 plat == 100 gold. 1 plat != 1000 silver. 1 plat == 10000 silver.
