The games stability since the release of the xpac that wasnt (not to mention rushed out not even done just to have something "new" before star wars came out) AoD has been a complete joke from repeated zone LD's to crashing to desktop to the ever annoying and increasing in appearance "memory error crashes".  Does SOE intend to even addrsss any of these issues or will it be the standard "top" priority issues such as dungeon finder/maker... (Hint: the community will not be embracing either of those two no matter how much fluff you continue to pump into them) that you continue to waste development time?

These issues strike the community regardless of pc/ram/cpu/etc. where prior to AoD this was never the case after AoD went live the quality of the coding essentially went straight into the toilet...any dev care to respond if this is even on the radar?

You might want to post this over in the tech threads and give them your crashlogs and files they'll ask for. You'll get better coverage there SMILEY

I run for 10-12 hours straight some times without any crashes from log on to log off, it might not be them.

I have been experienceing fewer boots to character select when zoning as of late. I have also noticed fewer boots to character select from the other people in my guild during raids.

I have also recently started boxing a second account and have not had any problems at all doing that. Two instances of EQ2 on the same PC, the main running in high quality.

You have some issues with your PC, be it hardware or software, but if anything in the past few months the stability of the game has improved from everything I can see.

It seems to me there are certain players who have alot of trouble with this and others who do not.

We have a regular that struggles with this issue constantly.  What bothers me about his problems is he plays on different PC's as he travels between multiple locations.  So different PCs, different internet connections, but his character crashes on zoning frequently.  However, he only crashes zoning as a raid, doesn't crassh zoning in a group or solo.

Seems to me there is something wrong at SoE's in causing this behavior, as its too specific a behavior and nearly everything else about his gameplay isn't constant.

SPI (Stateful Packet inspection) can cause this problem, and it is normally turned on by admins and the default for most routers seems to be on.  Your person probably wouldn't have access to the upstream router, but if they did turning off SPI is a first step to eliminate crashes.

Why it crashes due to SPI is SOE's coding issue, but its been this way for years, sometimes worse sometimes better.

Again, this happens at multiple locations using a myraid of different internet providers.  The likelihood of SPI being homogenously turned on at every single location, and it ONLY affecting maintaining a connection when zoning in a raid force is highly unlikely.

It is certainly within the realms of possibilities that it could be caused by some kind of corruption of the player profile, even possibly by the current state of the profile.

For more than a year I had issues with the game freezing my PC screen would just lock, it happened mainly in guild halls, but also happened in certain other areas, even on low quality settings. I was pretty sure that certain particle effects were causing it, I upgraded my video card from a Radeon to a GeForce and have never had a freeze again. My Radeon worked flawlessly in every other situation, other games etc.

Problems like this can be hard to isolate.

I agree, its very hard to issolate.  I and others have worked alot with this player trying to help him and we've had no success.  Its terribly frustrating as this guy also happens to be literally the nicest guy I've every met in an MMO.

That's why I mentioned that the "Default" is ON.

every single location that is setup by our installers for the various hotels has this functionality turned on, along with packet shaping to prevent abuse and numerous other security enhancements.

Had a lot of cdt's until I figured out that the custom ui was generating errors also since it was out of date - my fault in it's entirery

two solutions i have implemented and solved my zonecrash and memory errors

in eq2.ini add

force_low_mem_mode 1

In command line (cmd) type in

bcdedit /set increaseuserva 3072

After that reboot and see.
