I asked thi n general and they suggested I post it here instead...

On one of our trustees made a mistake and messed up our guild hall. I have a saved guild hall layout. I also see 322 items in our moving crate but I can not find it

I tired to load the saved layout. no joy. I tried to pack the guild hall up but no joy either.

How can I restopre our layout?

Is the issue that there is something in the crate you want to move back out, but you can't find the crate? Or is it that there was an item that you now cannot see, that isn't in the crate either?

2 problems. We can not find the moving crate. And what is the hall layout file for? We want to restore a bunch of items where they were before they were moved away. Is there way to do that using the saved layout file?

Use can use the Load Layout file if you have previously Saved the Layout.  If you or someone else hadn't done that before your guild member moved stuff it will  only save what you have right now.

As far as the moving crate goes, if you ask in the Antonia Bayle Home channel /join Antonia_Bayle.Homeshow on your server (except Nagafen), I'm sure someone could come over and move your crate using the layout editor to your desired location.

Dawnstrike is correct, loading the layout will only restore things if you previously saved you desired layout before things got moved away. As for finding the crate, that can be done with the layouts, and if you would like a walkthrough of how then let me know Alternatively, if you just want to grab your crated items, that can be done through the GH door. There will be a button that says "Collect an Item" and if you click it, it will pull up a box that lists everything in the guild hall, and where it is (ceiling, floor, etc). Items in the crate will be listed as in the Moving Crate. Click the item you need, and then click move, and it will pop up where your cursor is.

ETA: I just re-read your initial post and realized you already have a saved layout. Why is it not loading, do you get an error message in your chat box? Being able to load that previously saved layout would be the simplest way to restore things so if we can figure out why it isn't working then it could save you a bunch of time.

How recent is your layout file?

When someone packed up my old T3 guild hall by mistake (maximum number of items used too !!)

, I just used the load_layout option and it restored just fine.

If the probem is that the layout file is too old, you can save the current layout under a different name, open it in Notepad and copy the header (first 3 lines I believe). Then open the old file, and replace the old header with the new one, save, and load in game. That trick has saved my bacon a few times, and it may work for you.
