After speaking to people on GUk over the last few days it seems that a lot of people are having the same issue as I am, namely lag spikes.

These occur when logging in for the first time ..which can be the worst..sometimes up to a minute...or when zoning or evacing or taking a portal to the same zone. The ping counter goes from 250 ish up to over 1400 for about 5-20 seconds..it varies.

I can stay in a zone for an hour and not have a lag spike....but as soon as i zone....bang i get one.

This has only started happening since the AoD expansion. Is this something that is known about ? is it being looked into ?

cheers

Rhia

ive been having this same issue except to 8000 ping for 3-5 mins a time, i found i could reset the ping to normal by switching the router im connecting thru, doesnt matter tho which router i use tho i get the same problrm but also ive noticed that even once in a zone and stable viewing the warder tab on my bl can cause the ping to go up again.

in the meantime ive gone back to skyrim as quite frankly this is killing the fun for me.

We are having this exact issue on the Oasis server. The two of us are logged in with a Linksys wireless and Comcast cable modem, which has worked fine for years. Now while we're playing the ping goes up, we get 10-15 packet loss, and then it comes back to normal. This repeats every 4-5 minutes. While it is happening, we can't do anything, which really is a drag during fights. Comcast of course said their cable modem was fine, so I went out today (oye, the stores were nuts!) and bought a Linksys E3200 wireless router. And of course, we have the same problem.

ive dl a few other mmo's and played each all day fine with no problems, ping or packet loss which points to this being an aod code issue

Played yesterday without a problem. Today, im pinging so erractically it got unplayable. Taking a break till tonight and will check to see if it clears up. Went LD once and most of the other time just had major delays in collecting and combat.

I have no clue what the little yellow number at the bottom of the lag-o-meter means but I have seen it over 100K several times. Also noticed my EQ2 folder has just about doubled in size to 27.7gb. My cursor is lagging way behind the mouse and it can be tough to click on anything. Zoning times can be extremely long and sometimes lock the game. This can only be fixed by redeting the computer. And of course it all started with AoD.
