NEW LAUNCHER TOMORROW - Does it support Test server??

I have read through the new article, the FAQ, and the walkthrough - there is NO INFORMATION about how to patch a 2nd copy of EQ2 for the Test server, or even if it is possible. This is not simply a matter of switching the server to log into, as we all know the Test server requires a separate installation as it frequently runs a different version of the client.

The walkthrough (http://help.station.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/30589)shows a single installation location being chosen at setup, and looking at the screenshots I can't see how or where you'd point it at a 2nd installation for Test.

Either it is extremely well hidden, or do we have to install 2 copies of this new launcher now, one into each EQ2 installation? Or (extreme nightmare situation) is my main character on Test going to be inaccessible from tomorrow?

Hopefully it's still possible to patch and launch on Test server somehow, but we've not been given any information on how it will work and what to do tomorrow when our current launchers stop working.

Help (and some reassurance) please!

Yeah I read that with some trepidation as well.  I would love not to have another couple years of people asking how do you get to the test server

Aye.  I'd like an answer also.  We who play regularly on Test are just as attached to our characters as those who play on Live.  I leveled Chiloh as my now 4 1/2 year old son napped.  Level 1-90 via naps is a long process.  I'd hate to lose her.

It doesn't look like the new launcher has a way to get to Test.  Please give us a way to get to our characters on test.  Thank you.

I was told in a meeting earlier today that this had been taken care of, and I know that the launchpad team is paying close attention to forum feedback.  However I don't have the exact details of how this will work. I'll see if I can find out.

Update: I'm informed that this will work in the same way that the streaming launchpad currently does.  When you select the region, "test" is listed as an available option.  Select it there and you're good to go.  If you normally log into Test it should detect that was your most recent region and default to it automatically.

Well, actually as I use the original launcher, I have yet to see the new one, on beta or on live!  But here's hoping it will go smoothly when the time comes.

Nope theres a bug with it validating all assets ,every time it switches from test to live or vice versa. Takes forever to switch;hopefully a fix incoming.

Well honestly I haven't actually had the chance to try yet, because I've been on the beta server the whole time since I started this thread. All I can say so far is my beta launcher got replaced ok.

I guess when you take the beta server down and we all try to go "home" again, then we'll see.

New Launcher works Great on Beta, but since I'm using LP1 for both Live and Test I've not gotten to try the new launcher for those servers.  I will say I really like how quick it is.  Awesome improvement!

Add me to those who can't test the new launcher because of using the original. The Beta launcher I have been using does not seemto have all the features that are on the Live version, so i can't comment on that either.

Neither Launcher 1 nor Station Launcher updated when I logged on Storms and I'm afraid of testing the launcher 1 for Test so I haven't tried.

How do you know which launcher you are using? Mine doesn't have a number on it.  Here is what it looks like when  I log in:

I wanted to download and install it before Tuesday.  I got the full edition from the link that was offered.

INstallation was easy and it seems to be working fine for me.  I am using it to access my regular game.

I use the EQ2Maps so I did have to open options for that and point it to the new launcher and its fine too.

I really would like to see the option to choose what char you want to log in on as there is really only 1 I play.  I read somewhere that this option is prolly in the works =)... I hope so!

Ah I see test server in the list 'Public Test' along with the rest.  I really liked it for beta, very fast.  However I will miss the old one as I am a creature of habit and its been a reliable friend for a long time!

Been using the new launcher on (Public) Test since it came out - boxing is doable and I have no complaints that weren't already addressed in Beta.  So far, so good.

Want to say that DanKinney is doing an amazing job at explaining and solving bugs.

Well, we installed it today. Worked ver well for hubby upgrading from Station Launcher on Seven.

This launcher hates me. So, well, it downloaded the whole game over the same install (nothing appeared anywhere else, it's just the same place but it downloaded a second time, go figure). Then it got stuck at 13 500 megas for at least half an hour and finally crept the last %. Now it seems to be working fine and patches US, Fr and Test.

I'm downloading the full launcher and patching test. However, I had to create a new station account to get it to actually do anything (I've been gone a while from Test). Trying to log in tells me I have to choose a subscription plan. (Not currently subscribed to EQ2 at all. I do however have access back to this forum (which was invisible to me up to yesterday).

(just a note in case there is some account flagging that has to be flipped on/off)

EDIT: To clarify, My old accounts (both accounts that were previously subscribed) can not run the launcher because it says I have to choose a subscription. The new account I created with the launcher, is able to login and download (I'm assuming it's because it's flagged as a 14 day free trial account).

I've got about 4 gig left in the patcher now. After it's done downloading I'll try the old accounts again. I might have to just start fresh on Test though Will let you know how things pan out.

Tomorrow after the extended downtime you should be able to use your old accounts again without a subscription.

I tried to go to test server with the new launcher and it started installing the whole game again lol  Yay more stuff to fiddle with

Hubby installed the test server patcher and this one is installing in a TestServer directory.

Exemple:

You want Test server in D:/game/TestServer

If you point to D:/game/TestServer, it'll install in D:/game/TestServer/TestServer

So you need to point to D:/game/ to get it to install in your preexisting TestServer folder

Here's the deal.. i got the new launcher on main computer doing my usual log in and it put a new icon on my desktop and goes to test nicely. 

On my second computer instead of the new launcher I got some wierd little black and white stop watch looking thing. So... I tried launching the streaming Extended  I had and it got me the new launcher, but it did not put an icon on my desktop and still  uses the old extended icon to start.  It tries to install a new test folder and I see no way to change where it points for the test server.
