Servers go down?

Topic says it all. I logged in and was in game for about 5 seconds and got booted now i can not get back in. Did the servers go down for a fix or something? I did not see anything on the main web site about a hot fix or maint.

It would appear that things are a bit...sideways.

Stuck cycling through login server fails here.

Someone fell alseep on the switch? Server was announcing they would go down for a scheduled update at 10AM EST but when you looked at the server status page there was nothing about 11/17/11 and when you looked for some kind of update notes there was none.. Have to love SOE's total lack of notifying the player about STEALTH changes..

Servers went down for a brief update, at 10am EST/7am PST but nothing i can see posted on forum about it, just yellow messages in game saying it was going down.

Tnx for the info all. After being gone for 6 years this got a bit frustrating. Hope they come back up soon, I need my fix

No.. frustrating is when they go down almost every day at 10AM EST.. they use to go down once a week for maintenance and maybe a second time if the stealth nerf they added broke something.. but in the past 6 months they seem to go down DAILY...

Yeah, been searching for a bit for a reason I could not log in. I was not ingame, so if there was a message there, I would not of seen it. They need to post something to let players know. /sighs

And some wonder about why so many complain about how little it appears Sony cares about their customers. If they are going to shut down they should post that fact here, the server status is saying that all servers are up. If they are going to shut down & post a message about online to the players they should at least have the courtesy to tell the players online at least approximately how long they plan to be down.

I avoided the first EQ because of the horror stories about Sony's actions, I was told that most of that was fixed but now I'm beginning to wonder if it is worth the bother of buying the full game. If they want me to continue to pay to play then they need to get their act together.

Well, the broadcasts began 2 hours before shutdown so if it was an emergency...it wasnt much of one lol

Actually...the exercise wheels are spinning at near light speed so it takes 2 hours to slow them down to prevent hamsters from entering the 5th dimension from sudden stoppage.

If 1.5 hours is a brief update, i'd hate to see a lengthy update! (Expansion times not included). And you know we're not even going to know what it was they did. I'm used to the 15-45 minutes every Tuesday, and actually don't mind that because it keeps the servers running more smoothly ( snickers ). You do have to admit, AB has been ALOT more stable recently. But come on, at least let us know what's going on more than once in a blue moon, SOE darlings!

Longest downtime I've seen in quite some time. Still not as bad as EQ1 Shadows of Luclin launch, that came out on a tuesday and servers wernt up and functional till late Saturday if I remember correctly.
