Was this intentional?  I bug reported just incase.  But if it is, then maybe we should get AA's right off as well so we can speed up spells.  I know, who dies at level 5?  well my new troub did...multiple times.

What were you doing to get killed at that level?

What does it matter? Last time I died pre-level 10, there was a pop up that said "Don't worry, you don't get any penalties till level 10!" So... yeah, if its changed, then it needs to be announced in some way.

As far back as I can remember in EQ2 you've had a penalty for death, even at level 1.

It's EQ1 where there used to be no death penalty below level 10.

You would be lvl 10 already if you didn't stop to complain about the nearly non-existent death penalty.

I didn't know there was ever not a death penalty before level 10, I never died before level 10 ever.  If they have added a penalty and their previously was not one than that is a good thing.

I was killing NPC's twice my level, because we normally dont have a penalty, I didn't even think about it.  No it isn't a big deal.  But would have been nice to be told and would be nice to have the ability to speed up casting aquiring AA's sooner in such a case.

Are you sure that you aren't thinking of EQ1?  If I remember correctly, there has always been a death penatly under lvl 10.

Yep. All levels get XP debt as a death penalty.

EQ2 has always had debt as a death penalty no matter what level. At launch, not only did you get debt, you also had a shard which you needed to retrieve or be at a reduced ability. I remember leaving a few shards on the island on launch day *laugh*

EQ1 was changed, not long before LDoN I think, so that before level 10 you didn't leave a corpse with all your stuff which could rot if you didn't go back and pick it up. Losing XP before level 10 might have been something changed, in EQ1, later than that.

The free death thing in EQ1 was long before LDoN.  You died, you left a corpse, you went back to yor bind spot, but no XP loss and your items were on your body.  I know, because I left alot of corpses rotting while I tried to explore places that I had no business being in.  Now, whether that was there from the beginning, I don't know, as I only began in 2001 or so.  But it was there te whole time I played.

Just sayin'

I don't recall recieving a penalty on any of my other toons pre 10.  I do recall seeing the message that I need not worry about death until lvl 10.  Again, not a big deal so no need to be all snipie n stuff.  Just a surprise having heard nothing of the change.

I used to die on Isle of Refuge from too many spiders getting on me.
