Hey there EQ2..

Got an email this evening about a free 3 day re-activation of my old account and since my son is older and wishing to experience EQ2 I found this email timing to be an awesome thing.

That is until I downloaded the LaunchPad app, which was linked in the email, to download the game.  Upon logging into my Station Account I have the EQ2 Launcher but nothing is downloading to install the game as well it's asking me to subscribe to do so (I believe).

Is this working as intended?  I've gone through my account and looked for any activation of the 3 day pass however I have found none and at this time I see no way for us to download the game and re-live some of my prior EQ2 days.

Any hints, sugguestions, comments?  It's only 3 days and I'm sure it will take us a bit to download the entire 12gig installation.  I'm doing the full download in preps that we'll continue past the 3 days with a sub but if the streaming option works I will also try that.

Thanks!

I have the same thing going on. I hope we do not have to "reactivate" in order to play especially since the email stated our accounts were activated for us.

I wouldn't mind checkout out the changes to the game over the next three days but I also will not manually reactivate my account; if I like the changes I may reactivate it on my own. In the past we use to be able to log right in when SoE games were activated for a few weeks or weekend - but it seems not this time. It's definetly asking for reactivation. :-/

I'm also having the same issue, tried to sign in to check things out, but I'm asked to reactivate my account. Email states we should be able to play without activating.

I'm wondering if this is indeed the issue.

There most likely are a ton of accounts that need to get flagged and I guess it's a good thing, for them, they have this issue.  At least it means that old players such as us were eager to jump back in and check out the latest xpac/changes.  They must not have anticipated this quick a response, lol.

I gave up on LiveChat as I was 8 in the queue, down to 4, then back up to 12.  Me thinks someone's seeing my input question and skipping over it; on purpose, ha! SMILEY

I just got the email as well, was excited and went to load up the game and patch. But it says it's unplayable because I don't have a sub... Would love to poke around again for a weekend see if maybe I want to come back full time, hope SOE fixes this quickly...

I also have this issue, and I just bought Velious in game, and was not credited with the 1000 free SC.

Now working for me either.

Where is this live help you speak of?

I click the help link on the upper right, and keep getting a time out error...

Ditto, same situation would be nice if I can actually play during the activation period to see if I want to resubscribe!

Go to Support page on Station.com. Click on icon for Technical support. When that page loads, you will see a hyperlink for Live Chat. Take note of the time to ensure that it is still open. Once you click the link it will have you to fill out a small request form and place you in a queue to chat with a tech rep. Hope this helps!

I went to the live chat support but support hours ended just before I could get in.  Normally I dont think they have support on the weekend but I think there was a message about extended support hours this weekend.  Even still, they don't start until 12 noon pacific time.  I'm east coast, so half the day will be gone before I can even attempt to contact CS.

I got the e-mail titled this:

One Giant Leap - Your EQII Account Has Been Activated

Except that this doesn't seem to be the case... am I supposed to log into EQIIX? I don't have the client for that, nor would I be interested in starting out at level 1 if I come back.

Should be able to log in to the normal EQ2 client. I had to go back and use my old SF discs to reinstall to cut down download time. For some reason the streaming client does not let you play anymore after 191 mb. Still have over 4gb to patch but it's better than downloading the full 12.6 gb.

I just got done with Live Chat support and was granted the 3 day pass.  It seems silly that every single person would have to do this though, so hopefully they will get this turned on for everyone soon.

CS re-activated my account, but won't give me my bonus 1k SC for purchasing the expansion today, because I purchased it before I received the e-mail about the promation. When the email states that the offer is from 9/2 to 9/5. what a load of crap.

Well, back to Bioware forums I go, have fun Sony, this is the reason why I quit EQII in the first place. Poor Customer Service.

why do a promotion like this and not only send the emails out last minute (I didnt get one until around 3pm) and then not even have the promotion turned on so people can take advantage of it lol.  They didn't do a very good job promoting their promotion.

My live support chat never whent through.. was on for over an hour and kept going down until like 3-6 then back up to 15-28 SMILEY   No one wanted to help so stil stuck here with now a day lost?  How can they send a free 3 days, 8pm EST, and finally not flag accounts.

So basically 9/2 is over and it's not 3 free days; it's more like 12hours once they get this fixed and we have to download, nice! :S

How to fail promotion 101 class is now in session.

The only way SOE can redeem this error is at least extending the offer a day. I got the email 6:30 PM CST, 4:30PM PST, only 8 hours of 9/2 were even available and they arent even because of this issue.

/Agree. I left back in July after my "Make it Good" free time lapsed. Decided to save my cash and buy an Xbox Live account until SW:TOR is released. I just wanted to load up and see just how bad the devs screwed up my toons with the latest GU.

It is getting really frustrating that we are still seeing little to no improvement in customer service...
