Stuck on Testament of Stone - God quest series

I'm doing the God quests and am stuck on the Testamanets of Stone part.

You need to kill a Vampire Dwarf Palladin in the mistmoore catcombs.

It is lvl 65^^^ and I am lvl 81 Warden.

I expected a real tough fight, but it was a total and utter one sided slaughter. When I attack it it just wipes my mana out in seconds - clunk clunk and no mana so can't heal myself, can't cast roots or attack spells, and my melee/armour is pitiful being a warden. So seconds in I'm OOM and get beat to snot. If I root it is the same thing but I get the option to either wait helpless till the root breaks and get a kicking or am forced to run away!

Is it a melee only mob? - i.e. casters and priests get stuffed regardless of level. Is there a trick or secret to tackling this mob? Or do I need to have indignity of gathering a full group to watch me fail big time in taking down a grey mob 15 lvls beneath me!
