Launchpad problems

Hi after eq2 came back up i tried to log in, it asked me to change my password, which i did alright.

I log in using the launchpad wait for the little update and the checking of files and then click start.....the screen drops to desktop and thats it. I wait and wait for my cursor to change and the eq2 screen to appear but....nothing else happens. The game is running in task manager and is using memory and cpu. Please help as this is really annoying me.

Exact same issue. Was working fine last night. Overnight I had it install LoN (I'm using the streaming client), and hasn't worked properly since. I've tried updating my video card driver, scan current files, update directx, deleting the LegendsOfNorrath.dll file, and unchecking LoN from the startup options. (Of course, restarting my PC after every attempt.) Still no luck. If I try to manually launch the EQII application skipping LaunchPad, it gives me a " E:liveeq2frameworkrendersrcVeShader.cpp (9837): m_shaderParams.mpPixelShader 00963f76 0096d00c" error, however, I do not even have a E: drive mapped on my PC. Well, this time I used msconfig to disable all programs, restarted, and tried again, and it appeared to act the same... but instead of terminating the process, I let it run. A good 5-10 minutes later the client launched and worked correctly... but that long of a launch time is nuts!

Got home last night, reinstalled directX as per the link posted by Joshua in one of the other posts, did a restart. Installed the lastest graphics drivers, did another restart. . . Nothing still the same.

I also get the same error message when i try to start the game manually.

Its really starting to do my nut in so really any help please would be greatly appreciated.

Ok so i decided to try and re install the launchpad. I came up with an error message saying my flash player is out of date. So i installed the latest version. Restarted my machine and click on the launchpad repair icon again. Only to be told that my flash play is out of date lol. How can it be i just installed the latest version. 10.3 something. I went onto adobes site and checked my version. Yes i have the latest version. So im really not sure what the heck is going on.

So after lots of headbanging i decided to delete the whole game from my machine and do a fresh install from the original discs. Massive updates ahead so fingers crossed.

I had the same problem and fixed it. It was a missing dll file. After launching the everquest2.exe I got the warning that d3dx9_35.dll is missing. I don't got this warning when using eq2.exe (launchpad). After donloading the dll and placing it into windowssystem32 it works now.

Ive been trying to got on for a week now, about to give up. I log in, load the game, click launch the screen goes black, then turns a lighter black, back to the darker black, and then im back on my desktop. I reinstalled the game, did all my window updates, deleted the dll files ppl were saying were the issue, updated to the latest flash, and turned off my firewall while i launched... to no avail...

I am having the exact same problems. I have killed and reinstalled the game twice. I have updated every driver. I have deleted my anti virus program, updated direct x, reinstalled and updated everything I an think of. And nothing but that black screen. (and that same error message when I tried to bypass launchpad). It IS doing something though. The problem is on my second computer, and I didn't notice it was set to the same account as I was playing on my main computer. Once I hit the black screen, it bumped me off my main, but it never went through. PLEASE do something. I just restarted my second acct one day before the outage, and one day after the game comes back up, I can't load it up! Maybe it's a sign?

Right got rid of everything eq2 related on my pc. Did a fresh install from the original disc, did all the updates (which took flipping ages) and hay presto the games works a treat. I now log in from the old launcher and touch would, no problems.

It's 6:45 am PST and I"ve had the launcher going updating the test server all night. Still won't complete update. The game is not running. I get this message:

Station Launcher will try again after 5 seconds.

I got sick of waiting and deleted all eq files (for the 3rd time), and installed a new video card. Problem solved. But the "new" card is actually older and less powerful than the one I replaced. It kind of ticks me off that a card that was working fine suddenly stops, for no reason (right after a game update). There is nothing wrong with the replaced card - I had my husband take it to work and diagnose it, and it is fine. I know you guys are busy, but enough people seem to have the same issue (there are about 15 threads in the forums about it) that you really need to address it. Thanks.

Because I have had launchpad crash issues telling me login and or pw is invalid (sometimes after having been in the game for minutes or hours) I thought hmm, from a dev, I should uninstall LP and download this one. Well, this link can't seem to find the server. *sigh* going back to the other launcher. I can't even close it out with the X. I can minimise it though.Common guys, what is up with all these launcher issues??

I log in using the launchpad wait for the little update and the checking of files and then click start.....the screen drops to desktop and thats it. I wait and wait for my cursor to change and the eq2 screen to appear but....nothing else happens. The game is running in task manager and is using memory and cpu. Overnight I had it install LoN (I'm using the streaming client), and hasn't worked properly since. I've tried updating my video card driver, scan current files, update directx, deleting the LegendsOfNorrath.dll file, and unchecking LoN from the startup options. (Of course, restarting my PC after every attempt.) Still no luck. If I try to manually launch the EQII application skipping LaunchPad, it gives me a " E:liveeq2frameworkrendersrcVeShader.cpp (9837): m_shaderParams.mpPixelShader 00963f76 0096d00c" error, however, I do not even have a E: drive mapped on my PC. Any help would be amazing Next post is my dxdiag report.

Did a fresh install from the original disc, did all the updates (which took flipping ages) and hay presto the games works a treat. Kamlyn Server: Antonia Bayle Lord Join Date: Dec 2009 Posts: 4	Well, this time I used msconfig to disable all programs, restarted, and tried again, and it appeared to act the same... but instead of terminating the process, I let it run. A good 5-10 minutes later the client launched and worked correctly... but that long of a launch time is nuts!

Soldancer Loremaster Join Date: Nov 2005 Posts: 458	I had the same problem and fixed it. It was a missing dll file. After launching the everquest2.exe I got the warning that d3dx9_35.dll is missing. I don't got this warning when using eq2.exe (launchpad). After donloading the dll and placing it into windowssystem32 it works now.

I log in, load the game, click launch the screen goes black, then turns a lighter black, back to the darker black, and then im back on my desktop. I reinstalled the game, did all my window updates, deleted the dll files ppl were saying were the issue, updated to the latest flash, and turned off my firewall while i launched... to no avail...

Roseberry Guardian Join Date: May 2010 Posts: 2	I am having the exact same problems. I have killed and reinstalled the game twice. I have updated every driver. I have deleted my anti virus program, updated direct x, reinstalled and updated everything I an think of. And nothing but that black screen. (and that same error message when I tried to bypass launchpad). It IS doing something though. The problem is on my second computer, and I didn't notice it was set to the same account as I was playing on my main computer. Once I hit the black screen, it bumped me off my main, but it never went through. PLEASE do something. I just restarted my second acct one day before the outage, and one day after the game comes back up, I can't load it up! Maybe it's a sign?

But the "new" card is actually older and less powerful than the one I replaced. It kind of ticks me off that a card that was working fine suddenly stops, for no reason (right after a game update). There is nothing wrong with the replaced card - I had my husband take it to work and diagnose it, and it is fine. I know you guys are busy, but enough people seem to have the same issue (there are about 15 threads in the forums about it) that you really need to address it. Thanks.

Incantatrix Loremaster Join Date: Nov 2004 Posts: 5	I am getting into the game, but after about 5 mins the screen goes black, no sound or anything, and I have to do a hard reboot to get the comp back. It worked fine as of the 26th of May. What has changed in the last few days that could be causing this? Jen

Because I have had launchpad crash issues telling me login and or pw is invalid (sometimes after having been in the game for minutes or hours) I thought hmm, from a dev, I should uninstall LP and download this one. Well, this link can't seem to find the server. sigh* going back to the other launcher. I can't even close it out with the X.
