Even though it's not turned on yet... definately make it a part of Tinkerfest. Having it just this one-off event on a workday would be a disappointment to all the folks that can't really get in and enjoy it much (or at all) today and would also be kind of a waste of your guys time. So definately go for making it part of Tinkerfest

Aye, testing now. Comments:

• The next ring is not always intuitive. My first time in the Lavastorm and BBM ones (haven't done TT yet) I both reached a point where I didn't know where the next ring was.
• Along those lines, some of the flight paths seem iffy. You can get better at them but some of the hard turns and such are a bit much.
• Your ejection mechanism is bad. In lavastorm it threw me clear off the dock, in BBM it tossed me on top of the docks building parapet where you can't get down without or a flying mount.
• The timer to start people isn't even. I've seen people flying off a second or two before my countdown hits 0. 

Is there just two titles? I got "Test Pilot" one time and Sea Hawk another in BBM. Or is it by # of races you've done maybe?

Really like the idea and it fits perfect for tinkerfest

Test Pilot is the basic title you get for finishing any of the races once. Sea Hawk was given for beating a certain time around the Butcherblock track. There are several rewards for completing the race multiple times, too.

Ahh gotcha. I got one for doing the TT one too for certain time as well, I guess there's probably one for lavastorm also.

Guildie got a permanent appearance mount for doing the Lavastorm one enough times, I'm guessing there's one of each there too?

On a side note, the ring at the bottom of the TT waterfall I hate with a passion. I always overfly it even when pointing straight down hehe, that's a tricky one

On another side note, this is pretty fun. Besides tinkerfest you guys should set up a permanent one (or maybe a monthly one for a few days a month?) in Steamfont

I've done Lavastorm and Tenebrous Tangle so far, and they're really fun! The event benefits greatly from EQ2's awesome controls. Please keep for Tinkerfest, maybe with some additional courses. I do agree that some rings need more direction leading to them, particularly in Tenebrous Tangle. Will edit with more feedback later!

The leaderboard doesnt seem to update correctly.  I can look at recent times and see myself at 72 secs in BB but the leaderboard shows the number one place held by someone else on 82 secs

Are you sure you're looking at the correct list? The scoreboard widget lets you view recent times in order of completion as well as top times. The recent aren't sorted, they just add each person to the list as they finish.

There are two options when you click on the machine.  Recent which i would assumes shows the last 50 race times by anyone on that course.  and Leaderboard which i would assume shows the top however many times from that course in increasing order.  So number one on the leaderboard "should" be the fastest person round the course.

I could see my time on the recent list straight after i finished the course at 72 seconds.  However the number one time on the Leaderboard was from someone on 82 secs.   I did another few laps and my 72 sec lap still isnt showing on the leaderboard.  Something is not right.

Gah, I posted in another thread before I found this one. I will move my post content...

Not doing so well here. I'm on Test, and there was no option for rules/instructions on the Lavastorm board. I did a couple of runs but I didn't have a clue what was going on with the speed without the instructions heh. And the teleport pad wasn't working reliably to start the race, it was taking 3 or 4 attempts to get to the race start, by deleting and retaking the quest.

Then we get booted and a patch to download, after the event has been switched on. Maybe that will fix some things...

Currently Test isn't letting us log in though. The server was unlocked, but I'm getting "Zone unavailable" on multiple toons (camped in different zones). It's been stuck like this for 20mins now, doesn't seem right. I've confirmed it's the whole server, no one is logged into Test atm. Please can someone poke the Test server hamsters? It's already evening here and us Euros only have a few hours to race!

The BBM scoreboard doesn't seem to register the times below 80 seconds or so, several people got times around 73-74 but the lowest it listed on the top score list was 82.

I really enjoy the races. I definitely hope they remain a regular feature for us.  A few things to maybe 'fix' though..

1. Make it possible to read the instructions for the race while still on the ground.

2. Make it so I do not have to open my map window to see where the next ring is.  (right now there is no clear indication on which way to go in many cases and the map window is needed to see where the rings are.)

3. If it isnt already there someplace, indicate which race is for beginners vs more advanced.(i.e. BBM = easy,  LS = Hard)

4. The explosive ejection at the end is funny, but you guys should tightly control exactly where it lands you so it doesnt throw you off the island (TS) or way out into water, or up on a building you cant jump down from without slow-fall.

I had a great time, even if I suck at flying One question, there is a link to a purple hover mount. My main is purple obsessed, but I wasn't offered this option. SOmeone said it was a guide mount..either they had them or they gave them out..not sure. Is there a straight scooop behind them and if guide given out, can Bazaar get an NPC, cause I GOTTA HAVE PURRRRRPPLLEEEEE.

I know what the issue is now. Only the US servers have been hotfixed today, so you still have an old version of the Aether Racing data. There was a bug with the scoreboard that QA caught and I fixed, but you don't have the fix. The leaderboards won't update for you until this is cleared up.

Sorry for the inconvenience. You'll get the latest hotfix tonight, in about 8 hours or so. To make up for this mistake we'll extend the event through tomorrow for the affected servers, so you can play it as it was meant to be played.

I'm also enjoying these greatly, which I pretty much knew I would. That said, two improvements I can think of:

1. Make the whirlwinds a different color from the beneficial buffs.

2. The whirlwinds have a GIGANTIC radius compared to the beneficial buffs. I have to go through the buffs pretty much, whereas the whirlwinds sap me from a good 5m away.

What is the title 'Crash Test Dummy' given for? Someone said 10 runs of the same course, but I have already done that and I haven't got it.

The gnome did pronounce me CRASH TEST DUMMY EXTRAORDINAIRE! when I completed the run at some point though.

At around 10 times I received a reward marked "Crash Test Dummy", but the actual title I received was "Crash Test Dummy Extraordinaire".  I'm assuming that the title was just too long and truncated when the reward window popped up

I think it's 20. I had 3 mounts (each given after you've done a vertai ncourse 5 times) and about 5 times later got the title.

Addendum to my previous post:

3. Seconding all the motions regarding confusion with regards to where to go, I started the Tenebrous Tangle course facing the opposite direction. Since there's a ring right there, I went the wrong way for quite some time the first time and had a devil of a time trying to find my way back. Once I'd done it a couple of times it was much easier, but yoiks.

Whatever the count is (I think 10 of the same is correct), I think something is preventing me from getting the title, as the gnome said he gave me the title in both BBM and TT after completing each race around 10 times in a row.

Thank you for the update! 

Test has just been patched and came back up at 8:40pm GMT. Do you know if it's going to be extended into tomorrow for us please? I'm guessing you might not, so I'm going to go get on with racing now!

Btw that wasn't the only problem. The failure at the pad and missing the instructions are both fixed now with the patch. It does make a lot more sense when you know what to do, it's fun now.

20 sounds about right.

So that seems to be 5 titles so far:

Cloud Buster prefix(fast time in TT)Sea Hawk prefix(fast time in BB)Smokin' Ace prefix(fast time in LS)Test Pilot prefix(complete 1 race)Crash Test Dummy Extraordinaire sufix(complete successfully 1 race 10 times in a row)

and 3 of the C.R.A.S.H. Pads (one from each course after 5 races completed successfully in a row)

Loved it. Only done the BB one so far but after a few tries I got the hang of it! Moving along to try to get the other titles

I can't dispute the 10 times at the same course idea...I did go back to BBM and ran it there until I got the title after doing the three courses, so it could be that.

Oh and add the purple guide mount to your list above of goodies (sniffle)
