Cannot log in to my characters

My characters are gone.  One was still there, but trying to log into him gives me an error.

Same with mine. 1 was there and when I tried to log in it said server cannot find your character please exit and rerun the patcher, but when I did I returned to no characters.

I also get this error, however, half my character's show up, none of which can login as the error I get is "Can't find character on the server, please exit everquest2 and rerun the patcher".  After doing this (and removing the cache files), I still get the same errors.

cleared the cache and character cache files and now I have no toons at all...somewhat worried heh

Same here. Couple of characters missing. The server (nagafen) will first appear LOCKED - then after a few seconds appear ok, but when logging it the client tells me the server cannot find my characters and tells me to rerun the patcher.

Seems the servers are back down now (Splitpaw at least is marked as "Down" on the character screen), guess no DoV this evening, oh well...

I was to getting the same problem, then did a complete file check and while nothing new was loaded it did seem to solve the problem.

i got on it said the server was down then normal

but then it said i could not find my character please rerun the patcher?

um what do i do now.

Happened again soon as I tried to switch character, only 4 of my 7 toons show up and at first the server is listed as down then it listed as up.  Select a toon to play and it gives the error.  Trying it without full scan again first to see if it persist.

  It is still a problem, gonna run full scan again see if it clears it.

my characters are missing.  did a full scan and it did not help.  i have 4 characters available and it would let me create a new character (i have the full 12 so that should not be an option).  i was able to log in my nagafen character with no issues; however, it told me to exit and rerun the patcher on one of my everfrost characters.  dont know how to do that, other than RUN FULL SCAN.

I now have one PC showing "Trying Login Server #!" and has been like that for 6 minutes.  I have other PC with other Account saying "Cannot find world Splitpaw" and throwing me out.

I've re-patched twice, even tried to get on a US rather than EU server. No good.

It's getting late here, soon be time to kip - I'd better still get my [Removed for Content] Othmir potions tomorrow though!

Works for me now, not sure if its what I did, but here is what I did.

Go into the folder EQ2 is installed, fine the file:  _character   and delete it.

Then go into the logincache-us folder and delete everything there.

Then go into the cache folder and delete characters.

Then rerun the patcher and do a full system scan.  (Or launcher to a full scan).  then start it up.

Like I said that's what I did and it works for me now.

Did full file scan again, and matter was not resolved. *shrugs*  So Now two of ym characters got their potions, but he others can't *sigh*

Has anyone on Splitpaw managed to log in yet? Are we in YewroLand being taken for a ride yet again?

on the log in screen, my characters have lost levels!  this is not good.

p.s. logging into test did *NOT* get me the O-potions.  logging into nagafen did *NOT* get me the O-potion.  logging into EQ2x was a complete failure as the game would not load.  i cannot make a vampire race (when i should be able to do so).  i think somethings not right with this update.

For the O-potions, you have to buy them at the market place (Cost of 0)

Just deleting the (accountname_characters.ini) file in the game directory fixed it for me.

Now without even doing a full file scan, it works.  Maybe just a congested login server, dropping the ball.

SPLITPAW currently the only server still 'officially' down.  EuroWeenies getting left behind once more, I fear.

I suspect this is the case, the servers must be getting hammered pretty hard right now.

My brother had the problem and was then able to log in ok, while I'm still stuck with only 4 characters and errors whenever I try to log them in. Full file scan didn't accomplish anything for me.

Oh well, I'm off to play Minecraft for a couple hours till the rush dies down a little.
