The set is really nice looking.  I am curious if my armorer will ever be able to make some cool stuff like this?  Maybe decommission  old armor sets that no longer sell so armorers get some upgraded recipes .SMILEY

I can safely say (since I paid 1500SC for a cloak recently) that I'm no enemy of the Item shop.  But I'm wondering why things are so expensive in EQ2 versus FreeRealms.  Are you going for exclusivity?  Then I could see it, but otherwise, I think you'd make more sales if you lowered the prices a bit.

Or even added more value by making all SC items heirloom.

I agree. Appearance Items(at least the ones over $10) like Mounts should be Heirloom and the Bind on Equip removed.

any plans for more racial heritage armor?

$17 for non-heirloom appearance armor?

Reminds me of dressing my avatar in Second Life.. but for $17 I could buy about 5-10 of these.

I have to admit that this set is tempting.  However, I would be much more inclined to participate in Station Cash if these were micro transactions instead of MACRO.  My dark elf doesn't want the entire set, she just wants part of it.  If individual pieces were sold (at a MICRO price) then she'd be getting a new outfit.

I understand that we are stuck with Station Cash, but I just don't think it is reasonable to charge MORE than our monthly subscription for items.

uhm.. why did you call it dark elf heritage armor when there is no heritage to it? why don't you guys start fabricating heritage quests too? do you guys even do any research before you crap this stuff out?

I particurarly love the fact that that people have been asking for Racial Armor RECIPES for tradeskilling for 5 years, yet now we get it as a macro-transaction of 20 dollars and its not even heirloom/non attunable.  I guess from here on out all the really nice things that I would love to work toward will be slapped on the Marketplace for a fee.

Heres a tip; people play this game in order to set goals for great items.  This does not just include raid goals which is in the minority in eq2.  As soon as these nice looking rewards are taken away from being obtainable in game then more and more people will not have a goal to achieve and just quit...leaving your Marketplace nice and full of unbought items. And on another note, for everyone you might sell at $17 you would have probably sold 3 or 4 more for $10, thus equalling a bigger profit.  Maybe one day $oE will get the point.

aw, i was beta testing the eq2x and saw that armor on darklight wood NPC's. i thought for a second we might have some new fabled armor looks coming, but naturally it goes to SC. how about some art resources to the rest of the game too? really cool looking armor btw...

I agree with the poster above, SC armor being more expensive than your regular subscription is abolutely rediculous.  Not to mention crafters can't really make similar items (with the rare exception of a couple furniture items for carpenters).  I realize this is helping fund the game, but y'all are starting to cross a line with your greedy prices...

Great "heritage" screenshots Melancholic!  I have to admit when I saw this sc armor, my first thought was WOW rather than heritage EQ.

I still have a fondess for the half-elf bell-bottom armor with odd padded chain helmet, and the gnome "pilgrim" outfit.  The starter male dark elf outfit was always a favorite of mine as well.

point is, how dare they refer to it as heritage armor. there is nothing heritage about them at all. it is an insult to the players to name these as heritage items.

Drat was hoping for the leather crate the one that looks like a long-sleeve midriff keyhole shirt with Chaps/thong-loincloth combo... :p

why are you people posting all these old EQ1 darkelf pics?  EQ2 is a alternate timeline/reality.  Maybe this is heritage armor for THESE darkelves.

I was agreeing with you.  Your images shows the old armor and the SC armor doesn't resemble it much.

I wonder what the logic was behind calling it heritage armor.  Perhaps someone thought WOW style armor would sell better than true heritage style, but that the heritabe label would also attract attention.  I don't like it better, but it's all in the merchant's perception of what will sell better.

Maybe we could get lucky and have true heritage armor questable or craftable.

because earlier "heritage" items did indeed refer back to actual items in EQ?

BTW, EQ2's history is EQ1.

true, but there were differences in stats or looks on all of them too. Cut them some slack.. is just a word and the armor set looks great

You are wrong.  EQ1 history IS eq2's history.  We are only in a timeline split (alternate reality) after the events in the Plane of Time.  So yes, the eq1 pictures are a valid argument for heritage.

Sadly I can't but agree with that... I'm one of those asking for racial recipes for years...

Obviously it isn't, since they're shifting to EQ2x in an attempt to get even more RMT money.

Here's a thought with station cash:

You're losing sales based on your prohibitive pricing model. While you'd make less per transaction if you made these prices more reasonable (hint: you're charging well over double what a normal person would consider spending for just about all of these station cash items) then you'd likely see far more transactions.

People wouln't have such negative reactions to Station Cash if you didn't make it so stupidly expensive.

If I could trade this between my characters I would have probably already got it. But right now I can't decide which one wants it more. :/ As far as the cost.. well the armor set does match the cost of other armor sets at 1,000 plus the cost of a separate cloak. I wonder if the reaction about the cost would be less if they made the armor set 1,000 and made the cloak a separate item like they did with the Mermaid Scale Armor and Cloak. Not sure why the DE illusion only lasts 1 hour. That's annoying as every time you'd need to redo the illusion you have to cancel all the other spells that have an illusion on them first, redo the illusion so it's the first, then rebuff yourself. At least the Guise of the Deceiver is only half as annoying in this respect. Oh, I also bet you have to equip the cloak in your Equipment slot in order to cast the illusion instead of leaving it in your appearance slot and as far as I can tell, macros will not pull equipment out of your appearance slots to equip them. Part of *my* problem now is that I am running out of space to store things so I have to really want something before I get it and I may hold off in case a Wood-Elf set or something comes out. Hmmm..

$17 for an armor set that you can't even pass on to your alts? Really guys? The marketplace just keeps getting more and more absurd... And I'm sure soon a few folks will come along saying "oh well, just don't buy it!" Yes, well, if SOE wants to make money, this is something they really need to consider. As has been pointed out, more would buy these items if they weren't so dang much, or heck at the very least heirloom!

In case nobody noticed yet..

The cloak that comes in this set gives Featherfall and has a clicky Dark Elf illusion.
