Where does the raid stand relative to tox to avoid getting owned? seems soon as he swallows the tank the groups get destroyed.. we have tryed standing under his belly, legs, behind him etc..

Ok ..so,  I know ill get flamed up here or w/e for asking for strats on a hard mode progression mob.. But ive nowhere else to turn to atm but these forums..

I would like to say that the raid force we have isnt perfect.. sometimes we do't even have any bards and we are very lucky to have 2 in raid on occasion.. we also lack consistent raiders on every raid day so building cohesion can be very tough when every raid theres atleast a group of new people to catch up on progression / group cohesion etc..

Our guild has been doing very well for what we do have avalible at any given raid time.

We went and pulled Hard mode Tox for our first time the otherday.. 1 group tanked Vulaan up against the NE wall .. while the other groups were fighting Tox while moving him around the room avoiding the nox bubble..

once again..where's the best place for our raid to stand to avoid whole groups getting decimated? some have said under his belly, under his rear legs and behind him..

any help is appreciated.. i realize that alot of guilds take pride in figuring things out for themselves.. that being said those guilds are usually a stacked raid force with the same 24 showing up consistently that have a very vast advantage over most casual guilds..

regards,

Not going to talk about this mob specifically but just how to solve issues in EQ2 raiding in general.  The key is experimentation.  Don't be afraid to not have anyone do anything except try not to die.  Then begin layering on other things. If you have a MOB with harsh AE's.......are they zone wide?  Or are they joustable?  If the MOB has frontals.....what is the arc?  It is 60 deg like a cone?  Or is it 180 deg?

Don't try to see the encounter as one big collection of fail.  Break it down and try to figure out how to handle the individual parts and then put it all together. Don't be afraid to die......a LOT.

I never noticed the animation! A lot of us run with spell results set to 0 to avoid client lag from other players. I really wish there was a way to just have it on for npcs, because I'd love to watch animations for them.

To the OP, just try to find two spots that are pretty close to one another and that tanks can avoid knockback in, and move between em. You don't need to move very far to avoid the toxic sphere. The less you move Toxxulia, the better off you are. I'm not trying to be deliberately vague - there's probably a bunch of places you can move her between, so just find whatever works best for you.

We rely on the red text to tell when people are eaten.

Don't know if this got fixed, but I found it strange that sometimes when you are swallowed Tox will follow the swallowed person into her own belly and attack them!

So do you need 3 tanks for this fight?  Two on tox in case one gets eaten, and one on vuulan..or whichever is the 3rd mob?
