Now I have to finally break down and figure out how to use layouts, because I need a grotto for my Shrine of the Rose and that's too perfect!

Thanks SMILEY

But honestly it doesn't take long at all. I think I spent about 3hrs but a majority of that was playing around with different items. What is in the pics is about 30-45min of work. The entire dome part was placed by my program. I hand placed the stonework because I wanted a rough look and I figured that was not the final design anyway.

One design had stairs starting on the right side and spiraling around the back. But I could not figure out a way to frame things in without using up a huge item count. As it is that is around 90 items in the pics.

I also made one that started with a bottom row of red marble dividers (like the pic) then red stain glass, then dividers, then blue stain glass. It was too dark so I scrapped it.

What I learned from this is that I need to write more code to make it easier. There are some little things that bugged me. one of which I was able to fix (when you delete all rows then use the spirals or tile creation sometimes it leaves a blank line in the window, I finally found a way to get rid of it).

Anyway .. I will take some screens later that show how to do this. Some of it was guess work SMILEY

Looks great.

right up until you are actually in the guild with him. and stuff is spontaneously moving about. got whacked in the head with a [Removed for Content] brick the other day.

The joys of guilding with an interior decorator...

PS.  Where is this located?  I see you are on the Unrest server, and it's an "evil" guild hall...

rofl... I can't count how many times "I got bored ..." has started projects of mine. SMILEY   Necessity may be the mother of invention but I do believe boredom must be a very close sibling.

Beautiful work with a stunning effect.  Kudos.

Awesome. Shouldn't be surprised that the creator of the program would know how to use it to its max potential. Wish I understood it better as I still have trouble getting it to do its spiral or auto things the way I want it to.  But I can't give up after this stunning example of the potential.

would it help if I desribed what it is actually doing ?

Center point is x z y  (same as loc ingame)

From the center point and adds +radius to X (should be east of center).

If Start angle is not 0 it moves the start point clockwise (counter clockwise for negative values)

It then places an item at this location rotating it if start angle is not 0 (if start is 45 degrees it will rotate the item 45 degrees).

It then takes the total angle (this is how much of a arc you want) and divides it by the number of steps (total items to use). If the total angle is positive it will build the circle clockwise. If you want counterclockwise then make the total angle a negative value.

If Z increase is not 0, and per step is not checked, it will divide the Z increase by the number of steps. if you want to build down, make the Z increase a negative value.

It will move to the next position moving around the center and incrementing the item's angle by the amount figured above and adding the Z increase if asked for.

It will do this for each item.

(I just added some tooltips which will be in the next version)

That might actually help a lot. Being a numbers idiot I'll have to experiment. But what I wanted to do initialy was start at the top step and spiral downwards since I didn't care as much where the bottom step was. The explanation will definately help with that. Thanks!

Find the Z value of where you want to start then find the Z value of where you want to end. Put that in the Z increase box and leave "per step" unchecked.

It often takes me a few trys to get it to do what I want where I want. I often will set the name to something like "row1" so I can easily delete those rows and recreate it after adjusting the settings slightly.

You cant really invert it so the design shows on the inside since it is an artifact of the overlapping windows intersecting to make the inside smooth. I can bleed some of the edge design into the front (there is a tiny bit already) but it was not the effect I was after with that design.  Feel free to stop in to see it ingame -Defenders of Avalon - SFP t1 guildhall. I have made some changes to it .. (kinda looks like a football helmet now)

I have another few layout ideas that umm ..lets just say that if I can pull them off, it will be amazing.  Might need to make another utility/script to do one of them.

I have been running into a major issue with making archways. The game does not like certain rotational values and I have been attempting to work around them SMILEY
