I've got mine!

I think the armored one is better looking, but my monk has one that's not armored (because he's a wood elf and hippie), and my assassin has an unarmored one also (because he's kerran, and he doesn't wanna burden his feline mount any more than strictly necessary).

But the model itself looks so ... so ... bad.  Just laughingly bad.  Of the 2, He-Man's Battlecat is better than the unarmored one, but both could have looked so much better.

I know its a subjective matter of taste, but for me (and many others it appears) the cats look just too horrible to use.  Is there any chance that we could have a switch that toggles between "Show Mount" and "Hide Mount"?  You know ... just like capes or helms.

The awful appearances of the armor and characters in Wow was one of the many reasons why I left that game.  I've been really happy with EQ2 and like almost everything SOE has done with the game.  But after seeing these cats ... it was the first time that I looked back at my days on Wow with nostalgia.  And that's something I never thought I would say.

The animation while riding it is terrible. It looks like one of those old inchworm kid toys from the 70's and it's bob tail on it's rear looks like a [Removed for Content] being launched. It needs a white tip on it or something to make it look like a tail and not a [Removed for Content]. And why does my toon's head turn to the left while it's riding? I won't be using it unless the animation changes. I'll stick with my werebear.

I had the same issue with the free bear from the last one. The tail looks like a [Removed for Content] that just wont drop off and instead flops around still stuck to its butt. I named the non rideable low level on one of my alts "Pooptail".

For the most part I like the cat.  I've only used the unarmored one. I think his face is cute, although it kind of reminds me of Snarf fromThundercats.  My one question is why is the cat's butt SO BIG?

Just means your server's population was smarter than most and didn't spend $30 on a mount.

$40 for exp + $30 for mount = $70 collectors edition

I bet those same people that paid for the mount are against Station Cash.

We just trimmed her rear end down. The fix will go in soon.

Can we please do something about the animation. ... its so nauseating. . Not graceful at all like a cat. I won't use mine till it changes. In fact I would like a refund for the CE version. Just downgrade me to standard. .

Thank you for the slimmed down backside! Now I won't have to remind myself that though that part is scary large, the face is too adorable for words. SMILEY

And just for the record, I like the riding animation.  Some of my guildmates have said they thought it was quite catlike.

All in all, I like the stalker much much better than the bear or the drooly warg or the bounce me to death rhino.

I like the look of both cats -- have the armored on my Monk and the unarmored on my Fury SMILEY  My only suggestion would be that the scaling for small races may need to be looked at... on my Kerran Ranger, the size and proportions between rider and mount are perfect... on my Fae Monk, the mount is much more massive in proportion to the Fae. Then again, it may just be my perspective -- my Fae have been riding wargs for ages, and those are kinda small

I like it because it's faster than my old ones!

Actually, if they would just make a tiny blob, it would be the best.

So the rear end of the cat is recognized as being too fat and so is being given a crash diet, but the rest of it, including the "/cute" head is fine?

No offense ... but *boggle*

Any possibility that we can get a toggle "On / Off" switch for the mount?  I mean, since we're making changes to its appearance anyway?

My only real "complaint" about the cat is the stub tail that it has. I think that a longer tail would help a bit with the overall look.

The way that it runs ( especially viewing from the side ), jumps and roars are all great.

The head could use a little work, perhaps a bit smaller or a shorter neck. I can't quite place what is "wrong" there.

I'm going back in and adjusting a few things with the run. After running around on it all day yesterday, I figured out what's been bugging me about it. Now that I have some time, I can smooth out a few things.

For a while after claiming the stalker mount, I thought I was bugged, since it seemed to not move any faster than normal run speed.  Would a larger race have that visual effect?  This was on an Iksar, after playing smaller races for a long time (like Frogloks and Ratonga), and it seems that the smaller you are the faster you appear to move.

Take a close look at one of the horse's tails...   (its worse the higher graphics setting you use) >_< I'd rather have the [Removed for Content]. First time

I noticed it I couldn't look away and freaked out about it in guild chat. Some of my guildies are still mad at me for bringing it to their attention.

"What has been seen cannot be unseen..."

And as far as the bear goes... the pre launch advertisement made it look fierce and deadly, and what did we get? Yogi the stoner bear lol It made me wish I had of preodered the digital download for TSO, the void beast in a cage house item is way cooler.

That's why the animations of this mount needs some tweaking.

Because of the slow animation, your mount is sliding over the ground. And so it gives the perception it's slower then the rest. Because other mounts have faster animations at higher speeds.

Also, some people forget that this mount is not a tigerlike mount. But it's in fact a blown up Lynx.

got mine for 59.99 on amazon.com ( they gave me $10.00 off right before it shipped)

so I paid $20 for an in game mount, appearance armor, a pewter figurine and a dvd on the original eq.

the only peopel I see that are negative against the collector's edition  are the ones that did not get it or the ones that didn't want it..

the mount is basically an appearance item with 65% run speed so I don't see how you can even compare that to station cash .. its should be compaired the the market place ( sorry you were right .. I was thinking the station exchange - station cash is used in the market place .. was up late last night with new expansion and haven't had coffee yet, LOL )

anyway, why do you care how people spend their own money?

to you, it wasn't worth it.. so?

I think it's a waste for people to spend money on cigarettes .. so?

My arasai's wings don't move while I'm on the cat.  Its freaking me out... its like she's petrified of falling off and being eaten like a bug by her own mount.

The main thing to me is the mount does not run like a cat.  A cat is polydactile at low speeds, and when running it keeps its head and forward body fairly level.  That's a primary feline characteristic, part of their hunting skill.  Also, they tend to run smoothly rather than bouncily.  It's front and rear feet do not stay in sync with each other, one always leads the other.

By contrast, the game mount looks more like it is pausing to leap over a ditch with each step.  Its head bobs unnaturally for a feline.

Cosmetically... the head is awfully large and needs to be smaller, though it isn't as bad as some people claim.  Tigers for example, have pretty large heads.

To anyone who complains about ANY eq2 mount, you obviously have never ridden a mount in eq1. Nothing like first person view and your screen bobbing up and down as you run......

The lizard thing mounts in eq1 could literally induce motion sickness.

Eq2 mounts are just fine!
