i was gone for over 2 years, left right before Karnak released, had to stop subscription due to change of my income and limited budget.

so, i just returned little over 10 days and missed last month's anniversary, and got Shadow Odyssey after hearing about Guild Halls that i was been waiting since 2005.

i took time to relearn my combat skills, but crafting was whole lot easier with new hotbar of it own. i finally got into groove for group xp run and getting updatings. i first went from 70 lvl pally/68 lvl weaponsmith to 73 lvl/almost 72 lvl craft in a week. only made 3 upgrades to my gears, there nothing i can find better than KoS's Lord Vyemm armor set that i have Intrepid and Firebrand.

At first, i was lost finding where my kill list that was no longer posted in NQ and was told to look up quest journal and saw expanded tabs and factions, that is where it got so much improved instead of going to town and look up for how many i killed, so it save me time running and look up wherever i stood and check on spot. +1

Guilds Halls in 3 tiers, impressive! +1

New craft settings, +1

Achievements, this where i get confused, this one changed when i had this AA from EoF, lot of side reward points took me awhile to understand, and i see it got improved in lot of ways.  +1

70-80 lvl quests repeatables are what really we need, it also help cover the cost of armor repairs and help paying the cost of crafting fuels. good call for this. +1

Broker menu still the same when i left, it was already improved with couple of sub boxes to select what tier, items, classes, and it still all good, but grr!!! still inflated prices. (no changes of my opinion)

House items, whoa! lot of new stuffs from RoK and SO, and even from Station Cash if you choose, it does seem to have more of woman touch with new garden stuffs and table food stuffs, so is there some ladies in dev team? i think it is great! hehe, those makeshift "Aquariums" are nice touch of fan's creativations since original fan-made fireplaces before previous winter's frost fell festival brought in real fireplaces. awesome works guys! +1

prior to that time i last played, i was bombarded with gold/plat spams that made me decided to cancel Eq2, and now they are gone and no more mailbox spams. they are reason behind inflating the prices on broker markets. they are also annoyances while in raids, now this game is what it should be, fun to play undisturbed. +1

Hm, can anyone care to explain why we have 2 "Expert" collection goggles, 1 more is just taking up a slot in your packs when it would use original to find new blue shineys, having a new expert would use for next tier collections.

Missing Pages Collections seem it got improved, it even found in chests dropped by "greyed-out conned" mobs was good call, i know it get frustrated when you out leveled before they added mentor and freeze level options and cant find rest of other missing pages, i never got chance to finish books from Ruins of Varsoom. there isnt that many lower level characters playing, if i found some low level but they were just "farming" and isnt interested to let anyone else to get in or mentored, since i recognized they were "level-locked" for week or longer.

Please no more "lore-no trade" pages that like one i faced with Poet Palace, it was difficult and often i lose the bid in group several times. it get old and frustrated. it should belong on outdoors or on floors.

By the way, i was shock about Lavastorm upgrades, so i am just few levels away to be qualified for those quests.

so many "positive" improvements and yes of course, few minor pet peeves when dealing some quests leading to heroics and then have to do epic and required for raids, and i do want to finish those so bad and no one seem want to finish Southpaw adventure pack when it need raid teams, i cant not able to get last few updates alone.

i am not a big fan of raids, but when i look up quest journal and saw RoK's list of raids, and that is crazy! it made some player have to be maniac or raid fanatical, and more stressful than having good time, bad group can ruin and very costly for repairs. it required more focus and consistencies to stay perfect and alert and must be fast on reflex, anyone can slip and make mistake and get wipes. they are really bad for any graphic cards and they are culprit to get vid card overheated, it burned my last 2 cards both lasted for 6 months each.

now i have newer computer with bigger system, 4gig ram, and high-end graphic card, but afraid to get burned up.

i am happy to come back to Eq2.

If you're burning out video cards, you should look at the air circulation and cooling in your case, and the cooling system that you have for your video card. Video cards wear out eventually, but they shouldn't be burning out ahead of time unless they're either faulty or have inadequate cooling.

There are several different types of goggles for different continents.  The Feydwer is for inside the old Dwarven city.

Another set is for Kunark, and a 3rd for the sinking sands area. There may be more.

Just like to add that I as well am a returning player and have no idea why I left in the first place.  This is above and beyond the MMO for me and I tried them all.  Nothing compares to EQ2's style of play and all those Quests make the game so much more enjoyable.

I agree with most of what you listed in your opening comments, nice to see that others have the exact same opinions as I do.

The utmost help I get on these Forums without that "newb" classification is what makes this community so much better and more mature than those "wow-kidddy" games out there.  As well I can spam in different chat areas and I always get a helpful answer and I even recieved a Tel the other day from someone wanting to come and help me find what I was looking for.

Now on my Server Permafrost it is a little quiet though so it makes for grouping rare and almost non-existing but I mostly solo so that is no big deal.

I found a newbie in Kelethin yesterday and gave him about 50 of all my duplicate collectibles and gave him 35 gold to send him off on his hunting way and his response was moore then Flabergasted!  He could not belive that someone would be so helpful to a new player.  Heck that is just the way I am as I when I first strated was given tons of help.  I know that I am not the only player that acts in that matter, another thing that makes this game so special.  The Community of players who think about helping each other before arguing over a Drop!

All and all I am happy to be back and will be staying this time for a while, soloing or not this game has the "RPG Feel" and of course the Community to it I saw dearly love.

Thanks gang for making my return worth every penny of it!

Actually the faydwer one is for all of faydwer.  There are blue shinies in many of the zones.

Kunark is for all of kunark.

Then there's the helm for SS that can be quested.

Solstice earring (crafting epic) will let you see red shinies in a variety of zones.

That's all I can think of.

Oops one more, ethernaut, but that's out of reach of most players unless you do a TON of instances.

That's what I was responding to.

as long my current card (Ati Radeon 2600XT HD) can handle, my older ones were like Ati 9600 Pro and Ati 1300 pro HD, these werent able to deal with raids. i hope and didnt want devs to make any graphic upgrades to make it difficult for current cards, they look just as fine, the water just blew and realistic.

only thing that annoyed me a bit, newer mobs types added in some zones would have been greyed and i would had finished Feydwar collections for blue shineys. i did get first for goggles for a reason, hunting the rest of "rares" shineys.

yeah, i saw red shiney mentioned, it will take me awhile to reach 80 lvl tradeskilling, now at 72 lvl weaponsmith.

i finished purple SS shineys in few hours, and upgraded lavastorm collections took me 3 days to complete 7 sets and crystals to get that orb charm.

now i plan on wrapping up with frostfell festival before they get pull out.
