Hi all,

My husband and I decided to give EQ2 a go again after quiting for 2 years.. yay... downside is we are basicly noobs again.

My question is, I would like to play a mystic, my husband wants to play a necro, can a qeynosian and freeportian succesfully quest together?

I wouldnt be able to get quests in say commonlands for example and he wouldnt be able to get quests in antonica correct?

I just cant remember SMILEY

Yes you can quest together.

Correct, evil toons can not get most good quests and vice versa.  You might be able to share them but you most likely wont get the NPC to give you the reward or complete the quest for you.

Have fun!

Well your mystic wont be able to do most of the quests given out in Freeport, and the necro wont be able to do most of the quests qiven out in Qeynos, however most quests in the game (including most of the ones in Commonlands and Antonica) can be done by both factions.

There are some along the way that only one side can do (theres a load in Lesser Fay that evil people cant do for instance, grumble grumble grumble - mutters the Freeportian ratonga), but after the first 10 levels in the game most quests can be done by both factions.

But yes, assuming your on a PvE server you can happily quest together.

There's a long questline in Antonica (gnolls, gnolls) and a long questline in Commonlands (orcs, orcs)- the first doable by goodies, the second by badies.  There's a pretty long questline in Lesser Faydark, as mentioned, that's only doable by the goodies (grumble...).  There's two or so quests in the tavern in Rivervale that are only open for badies (just after RoK, they were only open for FPs, in fact... I wonder if that's changed).  The quest involving the necromancer in Steamfont might be evil only, but maybe he just didn't like my swashbuckler: I may have accidently upset the mob some other way.  Citizens of Freeport and Qeynos generally will not offer quests to the other alignment (excluding a few cases, like HQ's, and some things that haven't gotten 'patched' yet).  Kelethin has a few quests that aren't open to evils: I assume Neriak is the same, never got a goodie in far enough to check.  Other then those cases, I think there's only cosmetic differences: Her Majesty's/The Overlord's Secret Service.  Oh, wait, I think the steps involving the Sunwalker Stones might be slightly different from evil to good... meh.

It's a pretty small amount of quests if you exclude the below 13 or so content (actually, even if you do, it's still a very tiny amount).  If you want to quest together at the low levels point, all quests in TD are open to both alignments (you'll have to swim to get to the starting area, but that's not a big deal), and almost all of the quests in the Greater Faydark (save for some in Kelethin itself) can be done by both alignments.

(I think Darklight Woods is open to both alignments too, actually, but you won't be able to dodge the guards at all the quest hubs, so... basically, by the time you could do them, you'll have outleveled 'em.)

After the newbie levels, you're golden.  All zones should have their quests fully open to both of y- actually, never mind.  Avoid the Ferrott.  Every zone beside that one should be good, though. SMILEY
