I have a coercer that I created and leveled to 50 before there was AA.  Right now he is sitting at level 59 with 30 AA.  I'm thinking of leveling a coercer up to 80.  Should I continue on with this guy, or does he have too big of an AA deficit?

I don't want to level him to 80 and find out that he is [Removed for Content] compared to other coercers because he doesn't have enough AA.  Will I get enough AA leveling from 59 to 80 by running the solo quest lines and some random grouping?

One thing you could do is to run the solo lines with combat experience disabled. You will gain little experience on quest hand-ins allowing your AA experience to somewhat catch up. Another thing I would recomend is trying to do lower level groups mentored to possibly pick up on any AA kills you missed before.

From where you're at, it would definitely be a possiblity to 'catch' your AA up. It'll take some work, but like Strossus said, disable Combat XP and do the grey solo timelines starting with Zek/EL, adding stuff from Steamfront and Feerott occasionally. That's a TON of quests that will definitely help. You could also disable Quest XP as well as Combat XP, so you would basically be concentrating only on gaining AA xp...

Do quest givers offer grey quests?  And you get AA exp for complete grey quests? Without any mentoring?   If so, that would certainly help.  I'd probably start in EF.

Also, I just logged him on to check him out, and he only has 19 AA, not 30 like I had thought. SMILEY  Oh well...  Need to research AA to see what to do first.  Thinking to go for the charm enhancement and the extra triggers in the coercer AAs.

I don't remember where the option is...but someplace in your settings you can switch it so that grey quests still show the feather icon above quest NPC heads. So you can easily go back and do old quests.

I was in your same boat, I came back to the game a long while back and alot of my characters had next to no AA's. I deleted them all.  lol  I did try to play catch up on one but leveling is so fast now it took me no time at all to get back to level 50.

***EDIT***  I dug around till I found the option. Go to options/User Interface/Name and Chat Bubble then scroll down and check "NPC Overhead Quest Icons for Outleveling Quests." SMILEY

Several months ago they made a change to allow gaining AA experience from grey quests.

If you do continue on, as you've indicated, then I would suggest you re-spec on put most of your points into the Coercion line like THIS.   That'll cost you 17 and use the 2 points in charm.   Reasoning is that since you need lots of grey quest to advance AA you wouldn't need to worry so much about 'surviving'.   The haruspex and spell lash require 3 AA to just to gain 1 rank in those abilities.  The re-spec will take care of that easily and you wouldn't have to worry about 'saving' up a few AA (and maybe wasting the points).  Then finish the Resistance line with Charm, Despair, Scarred Pysche, and finally Tashiana.
