Quiver vs Charm Item?

Which is better to use in the charm slot - a quiver or a charm? I woud like some opinion on this?

A quiver should go in your ammo slot.  Then all ammo that you would normally place there is now shifted into the special quiver ammo bag.  When using an ammo container, you will still retain full use of your charm slots.

I read that more as bow weapon + quiver or ranged charm object instead... Mebbe I'm wrong tho

The ranged weapon slot is capable of handling both.

You dont have to have a bow there, you can have an additional "charm".

That's not a charm, that's a symbol.  which can be used in the ranged slot by SKs, charms can only go in the charm slot.  If you examine the item your talking about you'll see it says ranged/secondary as the slots it can go in.

Now if your asking bow or a symbol in your ranged slot, then I would say bow, and make a macro to swap in a symbol after you pull with your bow.  Most of the time symbols are better overall but you can't get that extra pull damage in as they come running to you.  So basically get both and swap in/out baised on what your killing, It pretty much comes to whatever happens to be better at the time.   for instance I've been room pulling on my SK so I don't actually shot ehm with the bow, I come in casting a dispoling mist, then switch to a next group taunt or death march.  For that I have a pretty good symbol I've been using because it is procing a bane for extra aoe damage.

I'd put a quiver in the ammo slot....just so it doesn't remain empty (it hurts my eyes lol...that slot does not accept Charm items).

In the secondary/ranged I use a symbol though. I keep a bow in my bags, but I don't think I've used it in the last year or so.

Most bows have a longer range than SK spells. Spells mostly have a 30m range and the bows mostly 35m. You'll have longer range with the bow and you can pull on the move rather than stopping to cast.  The stats on a symbol are usually better for an SK than the bow stats but there are a few bows out there now that sport +Parry and +Defense so they make good tanking items. Bows don't normally have resists so keeping a bow for pulling is great but you'll need some symbol items if you are a raider just for the resists.

there may be some nice symbols out there, but i have yet to find anything better than a solid bow and the dps adornment you can put on it.  i think thats far superior than the other adorns available for symbol.

Assuming we're talking about the ranged slot and not the ammo slot, I typically run with a Lubesh Clan Symbol with my bow hotkeyed for swapping. Unlike most other slots, the primary, secondary, and ranged slot can be swapped mid-combat, regardless of the item type swapped.

When I want to bow pull or fight at ranged, I use Ironstrand.

I hardly ever use a bow to pull anymore. Essence Siphon has a 50m range and I can recast every 26 seconds or so.
