To the OP...SOE has a history of reconizing the desires of it's players. It's as simple as the squeaky wheel gets the grease. As this game ages SOE needs suggestions like this and should consider them in order to keep the game fresh. I am sure there are developers at SOE who could create a Beastlord class and balanec it along with the other classes. I have been keeping one open toon slot open just in case SOE does release a new class. it's time for something new and exciting. I personally think Beastlord has a shot at becoming a reality. Yes I know SOE has said in teh past that they have no plans on creating such a class any time soon, BUT they only release a full expansion once a year...ANY TIME SOON is relative...it could mean in the next few years or next few months or never but I could also happen sooner than you think...I think a lot of players are viewing EQ2 as a little stale right now...hence the new surveys.... |

![]() Yes no beastlords unless something drastically changes. What would a beastlord do anyway that we do not already have a class for, we have 24 classes there is not really an individual role to be had and I don't think people would like thier toes stepped on. Plus theres the issue of itemization, going back and making beastlord gear or even just adding the beastlord tag on all the old stuff would be a crazy task. Also a whole new epic line? And what class would be the other side of the beastlord achetype...or would you have a good and evil beastlord. Adding a class with the setup we have now would be a nightmare but all this has been said before with all the other beastlord threads. Maybe they'll give us an AA line with some beastlord stuff but otherwise I just see it as more of a hassle than its worth. |

As it is now I feel there are too many classes, but that's me not neccessarly the dev's on that matter. So there will be no new classes for a long time, atleast 1+ years, and frankly I don't think even that is realstic of a timeframe maybe 10+years at the current rate. |

![]() Everytime a person asks for Beast Lords, another kitten dies. The possibility of Beast Lords were promised in several threads over the past 2 years under one condition. Every single class is absolutely and completely balanced. What was also mentioned is that every single player has a different idea of what "balanced" should be. Therefore, the odds of adding of Beast Lords is just slightly better than never. |

![]() IMHO: Won't happen unless the subscription rate of EQ2 drop so low that it also drastically affects LoN revenue (i.e. nobody left hunting loot cards). At which point SoE might do a NGE (and therefore a revamp of the class list) in order to try and kick start subscriptions again. In reality you stand far more chance of seeing Beastlords in some sort of future 'EQ3' type project than ever ever seeing them in EQ2. |

Not to mention itemization, which is already a serious issue. It's not going to happen.

![]() Beastlords were always Lyndro's thing. Most stratics chats and stuff he'd respond to silly requests by saying "right after we add Beastlords". In an interview Ilucide did after Lyndro left, he stated at the end that "although Lyndro is gone, that doesn't mean the status of Beastlords has changed". So no, you will never see Beastlords in this game. We have too many classes as it is. ![]() Well, since I met my real life girlfriend several years ago by accident in Everquest Live and her first love there was playing a Beastlord, for her enjoyment, I would love to see it added, but I would say the chances are extremely slim given their choices in that matter.
Lets face it, it would be a losing battle all the way. Those against the Beastlord class would see every advantage given to them, even the fair ones, as overpowering and one sided. Those for the Beastlords would scream that it's just the shell of the class they remember playing. Sadly, it always comes down to pretty much the same scenerio. I don't wish to play that class, but I don't want to see you playing it either. We see it all the time, I don't want to play anything but a (insert class) but I want all the abilities that (insert class) has. I want to be a plate healer that nukes like a wizard, does damage like an assasin, ports like a druid and has buffs like a shaman...while your at it, I want a pet (and not that hammer one either). |
