i have one character that never did the goblin language. she is level 70 now and theres no way for her to learn and understand goblin.  but the HQ in lavastorm requires it.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!$##%$#!!!!  these go with that last sentence

so im stuck, i cant loot any goblins that i can find to start the quest, it says so every time i try to do it "there are no items that you can loot". mentoring someone else doesnt help make the markers lootable. i cant get the next stage of the hq because the next quest giver speaks goblin. are there level 70 goblins somewhere that will drop this for me????

I did notice on the last character I leveled that none of the goblins in RoK drop the markers. Still need 3 or 4 on that toon.

Boo.

The language items are BODY DROPS that will drop from grey targets as well as any other.  BUT, they're not common drops at all. Most of the time you have to slaughter hoards before you get enough. So... go out to Enchanted lands and slaughter them in droves.

Antonica has more gnolls than goblins.  Though there are gobbies off of the coast by the Oracle Tower, just not many.

2 very good sources of Goblins:

BBM on the beaches and islands near the docks.

GF in the newbie zone. There is a concentrated area of them.

The only place to kill goblins really quickly is Runnyeye.  A 70 warlock is capable of killing 200 to 300 goblins in around 20 minutes of time in there.

I know this, because some of us farmed them for Nil Crystals before they were removed from the game.

Yeah thats what i did last night and it does not work for some reason.  I was grouped with a 52.  When the goblins died and had loot the level 70 could not loot the bodies, it said that i wasnt allowed to.  When the 52 looted the same corpse the markers showed up.  The level 52 had the quest done in about 15 minutes.

I took the level 70 to kp afterwards and hunted the goblins gathered around that one tree.  After an hour of hunting know markers dropped.  This is not working.  I'm wondering if soe has changed something lately about how these drops work that has broken things for my character.  No speak goblin means no finish hq.

The first issue you mentioned looks more like a group loot setting issue, e.g. when you got leader only looting, any other group member isn't allowed to loot a corpse. I know for certain that you can very well get those goblin language markers in the lower areas, like Enchanted Lands/Runnyeye for example (did so recently).

The second issue you mentioned might be that those mobs aren't correctly classified, but can't really comment on those, as I never tried to get the language markers from them.

I had this issue once.

Delete your current goblin language quest.

Zone into the Bloodlines zone in Nek and slaughter some gobbies.

You'll get a new starter item and quickly get your updates.

I was just going to suggest that since I had that problem happen before, only with the Orc Requisitions.  For whatever reason, the quest stopped allowing me to loot the mobs that had the requistions.  I deleted the quest, started over and it worked as intended after that.

Did you start the quest in the "old" way where you actually looted the item and had to double-click on it to add it (and could sell extras to an NPC) or in the new way where only the starter is an actual loot item and the rest are virtual loot?

I checked the level 70.  She does not have the speak goblin quest under the Languages section of the quest Journal.  As far as I can tell she has never started the quest.  I'm going to try tonight to solo goblins in EL with no grouping and see if this fixes the 'you cant loot' problem.
