![]() Hello. I played the original eq2 and thoroughly enjoyed end game and had to quit for real life circumstances. I never got to experience the expansions really. I thought about getting back into it but it seems like with lack of groups and there is just too much content to catch up on and still have fun while doing it. So I was wondering, is there a progression server coming like in eq1 where it starts at original? I was thinking maybe keep all the good changes for classes and stuff but have to unlock it again and everyone starting at ground zero. I would love to do that |

![]() There isnt enough expansions for a progression server. EQ1 had like 12 or 13 expansions before they had the progression server.

![]() EQ2 also has Mentoring, and there is very little raid content that is entirely trivialized.. and all the gear has been revamped over the years to keep up. The fundamental benefits of having a progression server are moot here.. it would be pure nostalgia, and EQ2 is already heavy on that from the old EQ1 players. |

![]() i don't think we will be having a progression server (only my opinion) .... However -- i am of the belief that you can and will be able to get lots of groups & plenty of fun & xp at whatever level you bring into the game. i have alts at all levels and i rarely have a problem getting a group -- and for that matter, leveling without a group. this game is so well designed, that, from my experience, one is able to get out of the game, whatever you are looking for.....you need to seek the folks that have the same goals as you .... edited for spelling AGAIN |

![]() There may not be a progression server, but my guild (Madcap) is a progressive raiding guild. We completely lock XP until all the raid zones in our present tier are complete. We have finished tier5 (including Prismatics & Spirits of the Lost). We just recently started tier6 (Cleared Lockjaw & Courts), but have quite a few raids to go. Upcoming Raids: (Tier6) Poet's Return, Pedestal of Sky, The Djinn Master's Prism, Gates of Ahket Aken, and the Peacock questlines. For further information you can see our thread here: |

![]() kela wrote: {0} I have been basically XP locked since 30th so I had to be careful at times =) Now with the "new" XP lock you can lock the follow: 1) Combat XP 2) Quest XP 3) Bonus XP from having multiple level 80s (I have 5) Discos, quests, combat, etc... XP gained all can be turned off. Only the evil shinies can give you experience if you have all options locked. |
