![]() I got a good deal on this headphone set, it is usb, because of it being usb, I have to go into control panel --- Sound --- and change the sound tab. When using the headphone I choose headphone and when using speakers I choose my sound card. Everything works great except one thing. If I am running EQ2 and decide to group, I try and change from sound card to headphone, everything changes except EQ2 sound. I have to exit out of EQ2 and launch it again. Samething happens when I change back. I have to exit EQ2 and launch it again. Why is EQ2 being stubborn, is there away around this? |

![]() There is no way around it I'm afraid according to some posts on the Logitech forum. It's a limitation of Windows. You have to restart any application that uses sound if you change the output device in control panel for changes to take effect. USB Headsets on windows aren't ready for prime time. |

![]() unfortunately, the ONLY way around this issue is to plug your headphones/mic into the jacks at the front of the machine. this *intterupts* the signal from going to the back panel jacks. as yours is USB, the only fix is to get one that plugs into the jacks at the front of the machine, or just keep restarting the game client if you must use the USB headphones. i despise USB sets, because not only does things like the OP's problem occur, BUT, also, the USB sound portion takes cycles away from the CPU, so if you have a slower CPU, you can take either an FPS hit, or encounter stuttering in your sound output or mic input. |

![]() I actually liked my old logitech USB headset a lot more than the other headset I switched to after the logitech broke. I kept it plugged in all the time, though, so I didn't have the problems you're mentioning. The headphones I got afterward pick up all the background noise in the room and it's annoying. I can't get away with watching TV during raids anymore....

![]() i had the same problem with my mic picking up background noise. how i fixed it was to set the push to talk (PTT) button in the voice chat options to the same one i have/had for programs like ventrillo, teamspeak, etc. that way it was just second nature to hit that button while in EQ2. also, there are SOME motherboards whos drivers have a built-in noise cancelation feature that may also help a little with that problem. |

Oh, I definitely use PTT in Everquest 2. Raids and other large rooms pretty much require it to prevent chat room chaos. I only flip it to voice activation when we decide to play some Battlefield or other FPS. I'm bad enough at that type of game without having to manipulate a PTT key.
