Due to the summer promotional, I've been pulled back into the game, but I've been wondering what the best way to go about staying is.  I have the Everquest II Echoes of Faydwer All-in-one package (So I have EQ2, Desert of Flames, Kingdom of Sky, and Echoes of Faydwer)  So, I do not have the newest expansion, Rise of Kunark.  I was wondering if I decide to stay, what the best way to go about getting the new expansion would be.  Is there going to be some promotional period where the newest expansion and adventure packs become available?  Would it be wise to wait a bit on the expansion, given my highest character is only in his teens?  Is the expansion really relevant at these low levels? Thanks for the responses!

I think your question will be answered the first time somebody asks you to group but you don't have the expansion to join them. For example, you're in your teens and a group of people want to go do TD.. you're out of luck.

If they are back playing because of the promotion, i thought it came with Rise of Kunark All-in-one for free? All people would have to do is subscribe at that point?Did I miss a promotion somewhere? *looks around self conscientiously*

According to the official website, as a returning player you should have been granted a copy of RoK as part of the incentive...you might consider running over to TD (or creating a new toon there) to verify this.  Assuming this is indeed the case you would only need to subscribe to continue on with full access to everything until The Shadow Odyssey comes out around November.

If you are back due to the promotion....  Then you can sub for one month and gain RoK for free....

I am a returnee too, and i can confirm RoK was part of the package. I got one alt now working the newbie area of TD.

For future expansions, i think you can buy them online trough your account management. It seems many of the offers even include some subscription making them quite cheap. The only drawback of that approach is that with all those game specific gametime bonusses, it makes it hard to fit in Station access. Got to keep deactivating that to take full advantage of the bonus days. But then that's a luxury problem.

Just to make what has been said above clear... if your account has been reactivated due to the new promotion you will recieve as part of the promotion access to the Ruins of Kunark expansion.

Should you decide to reactivate your account during this promotional time you will get to keep the RoK expansion at no cost to you (ie its free with a resub) compliments of SOE.

I don't think any of the repliers understood the question correctly.

The question is what is the best way to continue playing once the promotion is over.

My answer is wait for the next expansion. Since you already have EOF, you wouldn't need RoK until level 65+. Since you already have it for a couple of months, you can get your toon well over 20s and out of TD before it expires.

Therefore, wait and buy the newest expansions comming this November. I am sure it is an all in one pack.

Even without the Living Legacy Promotion, ROK is now $29.99. I'm sure the next expansion will be either $49.99 or $59.99.  No matter what you do, you WILL have to pay monthly subscription fees eventually.

The OP had an inactive account that was reactivate d by Living Legacy.  If the OP resubscribes after the trial,s/he gets to KEEP Rise of Kunark, permanently, at no  additional charge.  That's from the Living Legacy  web site.

Does upgrading your account with the station pass count as reactivating.  I currently play EQ1 as well and I was kinda hoping that I could just do the station pass.

I'm not any kind of "returner": I noticed an EQ2 Classic box for $5 at GameStop and decided to check it out, figuring that updating any kind of installation would be faster than downloading from scratch. I knew nothing whatever about the promo. So... it turns out that EQ2 is fun and now I'm interested in the expansion content.Am I just hosed (on this account), with buying RoK my only option? If I discontinue the sub at the end of the free month (another week and a half), would it be "in good standing" for promo reactivation to get RoK?
