Hello all,I play a lvl 68 Bruiser. I'm a casual player who mostly solos so I figured it was a good class for me. I couldn't wait to get to Kunark to start doing quests for the nice rewards. So far i'm about 40 quests completed in Kylong Planes and not a single item that my Bruiser can actually use. My friends who play Monks and Bruisers tell me it will pretty much stay that way unless I want to raid endgame which I really won't be able to do. This kills alot of fun for me and i'm thinking of rolling a SK and shelving the Bruiser. On to my question. I don't need to ask if there is useful gear for SK's in Kunark because I have seen many better quest reward options for them then for Bruisers but I would like to know how good are they at solo play in comparison to a Bruiser in Kunark.Thank you.

Although I'm only level 63 on my SK, I'm able to consistently kill level 68 (non heroic, no arrowed) mobs in kunark.  I'm wearing the level 62 MC with mostly crap jewelry.  At level 60 I was able to kill level 68 double down mobs.  I've been doing quests, with more downtime of course than if I was higher level, in Kunark off and on since level 60.  Although I can't tell you what it would be like later on, I would think this is a fairly good indication of things to come.  Some of the mobs types, enchanter particularly, I have more difficulty killing, but I am still able.  Now I just need some levels to start using my quest rewards!

Yes it's true we can solo pretty efficiently in Kunark, but most of the really good gear comes from the difficult quests you can't do on your own anyway. Kunark has it's own source of frustrations for us, so if you're looking for some sort of silver lining I think you're looking in the wrong direction. I doubt you'll find anything in Kunark you couldn't solo with your bruiser as an SK. If you're looking for an uber solo class for RoK, I have consistently seen rangers solo the named 83^^^ heroic named in JW.

If all you aspire to is soloing and/or duoing, this is a great class to play.  If you have aspirations of tanking or raiding, its best to avoid it.  SK's are a pretty broken class post-Kunark, and as of yet there are no signs that they will be fixed.

I wouldn't listen to any of these people who're throwing off on SKs. We're not the best soloers, no, but we're probably the best tanks for heroic content, and we can handle epic content in a pinch, as offtanks or (rarely) MTs. Our DPS isn't fantastic, but it's not bad, and our survivability and utility is probably the best out of all four plate tanks. Give it a whirl, and see what you think. I've played an SK for four years, and haven't regretted the decision or looked back ever since.

I haven't had any problems post-RoK tanking on my SK.  In fact, I've been complemented on several occasions by group members who had expected the group to have trouble because of an SK tanking.  You will have to change your playstyle, yes, to adjust to the new content.  But once you re-adjust to the changes in content and mechanics, you should do just fine.  Are you going to be soloing five or six blue-con encounters like you did in RoK or EoF?  No.  But neither are alot of other classes doing things they did before.
