i played eq2 for awhile before the changes but left because my partner and i couldnt accomplish quests in a duo untill they were grey or low green and we were farmed by twinks wherever we went

came back recently a couple months ago with the intentions of playing it untill warhammer came out and i am completly stoked at the changes..not only will i continue to play eq2 when any other game comes out but i have no interest in trying other games anymore

the changes are incredible, we are having an absolute blast, i love my little char and we can duo all the quests we want, PVP is reasonable and its a nice casual mixture of PVP and PVE (on venekor) this game is so fun and well done SMILEY<img src=" width="15" height="15" />

i cant think of any company that does thier content as well as SoEand the improvements are simply awesome

i agree. i played a long time ago for about 3 months, then tried ALOT of other mmo's (PSU, WOW, RFO, PSOBB, SWG, FFXI, Archlord, numerous others), but came bakc to eq2 because of this: it's by far the best mmo out there so far.

My 2 coppers - Emphatically agree!  I've tried em all and there is NOT a close second.  Just is not.

EQ2 is the whole, complete package.  Period, end of story.

I too played this game at launch.  Until recently I had been playing LOTRO.  It's an ok game.  Nice looking but you get to a point where you say, "Now what?"

Coming back to EQ2 all I can say is "WOW!!".  The game is totally different from what it was a few years ago.  I especially enjoy the new areas and even decided to start a new toon from scratch.  I love TD and the leveling is quite fast and more importantly enjoyable.

I forgot just how HUGE the world feels in this game.  My only worry is all my older toons are pre-AA's and to my understanding it's harder to get them as you increase in level.  To be honest though, with how much fun I'm having, I'm not totally opposed to re-rolling them.

Yes the changes are indeed good.I joined on launch but left soon after that. I was very disappointed with EQ2 when it launched, especially given the fact that I mostly play solo.I am glad the developers listened to us in the end.F

Yup, have to agree with you there. I have been with eq2 since beta, and played for about 4months after release. But too many "little" things bugged me and I left for greener pasture. I came back about 6-8 months later, and in that time, some of the major issues were improved upon! I did leave again.. my char got to max lvl and I got bored, but with each new expansion, I've always come back and played more.. and every time, the game has gotten better and better and all the improvements were wonderful. I came back again this time just before ROK and have had so much fun. It's not perfect, but it keeps getting closer and closer all the time. And imo, it's as close to a gold standard for me.. one I compare other MMO's to as an MMO can get.

I have to agree it is the best thing going right now as far as games go but I really dont think of it as an MMO anymore with all the push to solo everything. They should have ported it over to a console and left the REQUIRED TEAMWORK they had before. They would do well to get people back like Blackguard and Mourguard , who knew what was what and steer this game back in the correct direction (thats just my opinion)... as far as i can see they really have 2-3 real devs and nothing much in the way of community relations, unless you count the pirate wannabe.I am sure there will be another one out soon that will come close to what this was at one time, possibly by the same people who left here SMILEY

I hate you, and everyone like you that plays this game. Please spend less time whining and more time winning, it contributes to the general growth of the game and makes gameplay more enjoyable for all.

I have to agree, coming from a loooong history of online gaming (Starting with BBS Doors back in the 1990 , oh how I miss Tradewars and Legend of the Red Dragon! SMILEY) Then moving onto Toril/Sojourn, to Meridian 59, to EQLive, WoW, Vanguard etc. etc. This game flat out takes the cake as the most fun I've had basically since EQLive.

I'm split on solo vs. group - I enjoy soloing , I enjoy grouping .. Hopefully there is a nice balance in EQ2 of both solo and group content, I havent been playing long enough to know.

But I played EQ2 in Beta, I was very excited to be accepted into the beta fairly early - and jumped into the game expecting the complexity of EQLive - I was dissapointed, it was very cookie-cutter..Archtypes drove me nuts, Everyone was 1 of 4 different archtypes... The content was either too easy, or too hard. The zones were too packed with low levels, bugs were everywhere, the graphics engine crawled on my computer.... I just gave up, and switched to WoW.

I played WoW for about a year on and off - I got my druid to level 46 and said "blaah, this is boring" and gave up..

Now, as my friends watch me play the *current* EQ2 most of them have migrated over from WoW to check it out.. ..we're all having a blast!!!@

I absolutely agree. After playing many other MMORPGS (both published and currently under development...) I have to say EQ2 is the MMORPG i'm having most fun with. Three cheers for the devs SMILEY

After 3 years (but taking a 5-month break before the Sept 12th major changes of 2005) I have found myself saying a million times, and even just last night - what a great game EQ2 is.

Everytime I think I am out, they pull me back in.I have quit EQ2 a couple times already (or so I thought) and I eventually come back. SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=I have just returned again, and they've made some great changes in Quality of Life features. So many little changes add up to big fun again. SMILEY<img mce_tsrc= Too bad it's taken years to get there though. SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=  I am not sure why it took so long for them to turn around thinking. Early in the game, it seemed the devs wanted to do anything  they could to make the game a tedious nightmare on the players. Now it seems they want to make it less tedious and more fun. I am not talking about being able to solo everything. I am talking about stuff such as having quests make you run (slowly at that) across 3 different zones, then back again, repeat. That kind of stuff was NOT fun. The new noob starting zones are so much more fun than starting in Qeynos and FP ever were. You get some nice, cool toys early on too. It's certainly got to seem cool to the first time player, and it's even cool for veterans making alts. So much nicer than being forced to do the Housing quest and Citizenship quest each time. SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=Good work devs!

Wow, that brings back some memories!  BBS door apps (or just BBS's in general), Commodore-64's, (real) floppy disks, and dialup modems.

I grew very bored of the game until I rolled my new toon. XP locking and self-crafting FTW! SMILEY
