I ran CoA, Maidens, and Vault of Sleeper with my peeps today, and the drop rates totally suck. 7 named in CoA, 4 in Sleeper, 6 in maidens....out of 17 encounters we got 8 wooden junk chests, 4 of which were in Maiden's which is a ginormous pain in the butt zone. They some items...fine, but why junk is dropping over and over and over again in high level instances is beyond me. I have done CoA and Vault every night basically for the past two weeks to try and get my zerker set gear...I have 1 piece, awesome. Look at my post count...I dont complain about anything to devs but this stuff is just ridiculous. My guild raids 3 times a week, tell me, what is my motivation for running these instances in lieu of the complete unbalance in the time spent/risk/reward balance of these zones?

the zones are not that hard to even question the time/risk/reward factorbut anyways i didnt notice anything terrible about the drop rate, i think we always had a master chest drop for us in Maidens and several times in both COA and VOESand if you always got the drops you wanted in those zones then why would you go back after a week?

Exactly, the drop rates are fine from what I have seen. Yes sometimes the random hates you and you get a lot of wood, other times you can go in and get 3 master chests and some legendary. What more do you want, masters and smart loot drops every time you go into these instances? The only with any iota of challenge is Maidens anyway.

Maidens is hard that was the one I was referring to basically in the risk/reward...the other zones I literally can run half asleep, we generally run CoA and Vault in just under two hours combined. But like I said, two weeks time I ran these about 15 times and got 1 piece of zerker set. Albeit I got some decent jewelry, and nice weapon (Nathsar Shortsword), and some stand-in pieces for the time being, I would really like to see the set gear come together a bit quicker. The T7 stuff in CMM, MMCC, Unrest etc...that stuff would come together faster because if you ran instances with the same basic group, which is what I do, everyone gets a piece of their set and everyone is happy because someone in the group is one step closer to their complete set. It seems like its going to take forever to get the set, I dont think its aweful right now, but I would like to see a lot less wood, and less junk pieces of which there is quite a bit of. Don't rush to judgement on this post; run these 2-3 zones as much as I have and then revisit. In the meantime let the devs think about this: 15 runs...1 piece of zerker set.On a positive note: We did have a sick piece of fabled (some caster ranged slot item) drop in Vault...and on 2 prior runs I saw an impressive fabled piercer drop off of the emperor in CoA. I like the idea of rare drops of fabled mixed in with the instanced content.

Yep, when I read your post I went through it in my head, I wasnt thinking of Gruplinort that frog...8 in CoA. I stand corrected. and to address Rahamattata: Its not about the time that has elapsed in the real world, its about the time put in game. If I ran OOB 15 times in a row I can guarantee you that I would get my set piece there, and same for unrest and so on. I have ran 2 out of the 3 zones (coa and vault) every game session since I hit Lv77. You dont think that running 2 zones 15 times (30+ instance runs in all because some times we ran Maidens after sometimes not) is enough time spent to yield more than one piece of set gear. Thats about 40 hours of actual mob killing and productive playing to get one piece of set gear; if that equation seems cool to you, all the more power to you, you should buy yourself a treadmill and a stationary bike for Christmas you would be thrilled with them.

Wood should get the hell out of instances nameds loot tables period... with the lockouts and all it`s not like everyone will have sets completed within a weekIf i want a crack at a craptacular Enlightened buckler of the Fangs (or whatever combination of spectacular epithets that are attached to computer generated vendor fodder), ill just go to Skyfire and farm the single mobs in there for a while (they drop those like no other)However, just by diminishing by 50% the wood chests chances off those nameds most of the problem would be solved and you would see so many less posts as this one

Well so many people argue that there should be an equitable way to get very nice gear from group zones as is done with raid zones. The equation of about 40 hours of raiding to get one piece of gear, let alone set gear, is about right.

The fact that he's already 80 in so little time should be more than enough accomplishment. The fact that he also got one set piece already should be icing on the cake. But no, that's not good enough. He also admits to getting several nice pieces of loot and other upgrades and then tells us about 2 fabled items he found. But not being able to be 80 fully geared in class loot 3 weeks into the expansion is obviously ridiculous.Just put in a toggle checkbox at character select to roll level 80 in full T8 avatar and instance loot to save us the hassle of actually playing the game please. |

You say he should "get a life besides playing the game". But the way the instances are geared now, you have to run them dozens of times to get a handful of ornate/exquisite chests. That is total crap. Running these zones should yield a reward. |

![]() I am only speaking from limited experience here, I've only had the opportunity to group through "Vaults" once, and of the three names I participated in 2 were wood boxes and the last was an ornate that contained a nice necro necklace - the +50 disease dmg- one (though we had no necros in our group :o( , and yeah no trade. For as tough as that zone was, the one shot murdering of the brawler (me) and for how hard the keeper of dreams was for us, the wood box was very disappointing. I hope that my future experiences lead to better/more rewards than was yielded that go-round. |

Unfortunately now that the level cap has been raised, the level 62-70 content can now be outleveled, so instead of going to those places hundreds of times, we will probably go to them a few times, so the loot ought to drop more than once in a blue moon. Getting ONE ornate chest after running these zones is absurd.

Try running Chelsith ... Talk about horrible drop rates! With the lockout timer at 1 Day and 6 hours... typical run through Chelsith yeilds all wood and 1 ornate from the end leviathan.Grindal

We ran Vaults and Maiden's last night and got a total of 3 legendary chests. We run all instances (minus chelsith) almost every night, or every couple days and the drops rates have always been horrible. I think i've seen an ornate chest drop ONCE off the three sisters. if you're not in a guild or have a good group to do these instances with every few days, then it will take a very long time (unless you have excellent luck) to see any decent loot.On that note, it's not that i mind getting crap to feed to my alter, but at least make the treasured items unique and not the same trash that we can get from any mob outside.

![]() Drop rates in isntances seem fine to me, even a little heavy on the ornate drop rate. I don't think the intention of the game is to be able to get your whole class set completed with a couple weeks worth of instance runs. If anything it's way too easy to get legendary quality loot from solo quests and heroic instances. Look at OoB and Valdoon's. Only three named each, once of which was almost guaranteed to drop wood. So on an instance run probably you'd get 2 metal chests. Now take CoA. 8 named and about half will drop wood. One instance run and on average 4 metal chests so that's twice the return on an instance run. Compare it to Unrest and that's around the same amount of named and metal chests in about 1/3 the time commitment. Instance drop rates are terrible. Terribly common. "On that note, it's not that i mind getting crap to feed to my alter, but at least make the treasured items unique and not the same trash that we can get from any mob outside. " QFE If I see one more "Skyfire Item of Random Thing" drop in an instance I'm going to barf. This sort of computer generated item should be restricted to trash mob drops. A named mob, whether in an instance or contested, heroic or solo, should at least have a unique, developer crafted loot table. |

try the mobs at the very back of Chardok, where it seemed to be either exquisite chest or nothing, and that chest would only contain a master, if it dropped at all (we did get communion m1 and execute m1 back there)

How about the rest of your group? They got nothign at all? You are saying yourself, that you got 8 wooden chests out of 17(18?) encounters. So from that we can guess that you got 9(10?) chest which could be some combination of legendary and fabled? So for one night your 6 person group got 9(10?) (lets go easy on this) legendary pieces. And you can run it almost every day? So in one week you will each get around 9(10)+/- pieces of legendary loot. Not overly too bad especially if you can take into account that in between running these instances you most likely did quests (to get to 80 this fast you had to I think) and probably got few nice legendary/fabled quest rewards. I know I did. I have one 80 char now, with most of equipment now from ROK in combination of legendary/fable ( no raid gear yet from ROK). |

I'm fairly content with the drop rates. Between quest rewards and instance runs I'm pretty much wearing a full set of T8 legendary and fable. I haven't even really done all that many instance runs.
