Introducing the Legends of Norrath Promotion Weekend beginning at 2PM (PDT) Friday, September 28th and concluding at 11:59PM (PDT) on Sunday, September 30th.  During this special weekend, EQ and EQII players will not only enjoy a significantly increased rate of card pack drops, but will have the opportunity to obtain two brand new cards, Hatred (1P1) and Switch (1P2):

For now, these two new cards will only be available during this three-day promotional weekend, so don't miss out on the chance to get them!

It's not only a great time for current Legends of Norrath players to score big, but the perfect opportunity for EQ and EQII players to come see what all the buzz is about with this great new addition to the universe of Norrath. Possibly a stupid question, but...

When boosters drop in game are the cards in them already predetermined?  I'm wondering because I would bet there will be no way to distinguish between those dropping this weekend and those already on the broker.

I've only played it a couple of times since it came out. Last night the LON server was down, so I have to play the first two single player games again and I was unable to click on which game I want loot for. I play both, but EQ2 more than the first EQ. Hopefully once I can choose that option I'll start seeing drops and I'm definitely going to play a lot during this time period.

I think it follows a randomizer that has a clause in it stating you get X chance for common cards, X chance for uncommon and X chance for rare cards with a lower X chance for loot cards.  Probably an if statement in there that makes it so you are garuanted a(n) uncommon/rare card.

What I meant was, do the packs differ as to chance of a PROMO card.  I understand about the randomizer and there being so many of each rarity per booster.  I was wondering if the cards in the pack are already set when it drops, or does that occur when it's opened.

They are on separate loot tables and are not attached to levels, as I recall.

In EQ2, any mob that drops a chest for your level (i.e. green or above).  In EQ, I think it has to be a mob that you would get XP from - not sure though since I don't play EQ.

EQ1 now uses the same color ranges as EQ2 (they now have greys in eq1)... so... just make sure you're not killing greys, regardless of your level

This been implemented yet?  Never saw any sort of announcement in game and not a change at all on the drops that myself or others in guild have seen.

At least you got something.  I went on a slaughtering spree yesterday and still have not seen any boosters drop.

Been farming all morning.  Nothing.  Apparently a significant increase to almost zero still results in almost zero.  A shame, because I was really hoping to get just at least 1 booster pack to make LoN more interesting for me.

Yeah pretty much same here.  TOns of killing for quests, even named ... chests drop but no cards.

Ah well, moving on.  Though Murphy's Law always applies here ... when I leave to go to bed, they drop like snowflakes for people.

I don't post much on the forums but I feel I had to say something about this.I was looking forward to this weekend a great deal. The thought of actually looting a booster pack got me really excited and I was even gonna start playing the game again if I got some more cards. It's 12:25pm on Sunday now. Since 2pm on Friday I have been slaughtering mobs by the thousands, literally. I've killed so many mobs on my 70SK that I gained 3 AA points through XP conversion. On top of that I spent many more hours on my 5 other alts ranging from lvl 20-70. I've hardly slept at all in the hopes I would loot one of these cards and/or booster packs but I have been let down. I have seen a lot more regular chests I suppose, and I've seen a LOT this weekend, but I don't think you guys upped the chance of drop enough. Seriously if this is a promotional weekend where people are supposed to get a pack or two to help them with their card game scenarios, I sure as hell don't see it. 1 person in my guild (Order of Marr, Lucan D'Lere server) looted a Switch card but thats it. Noone else, through raiding, grouping and soloing has gotten any. The player who did get the switch card said he got it off a grey trash mob in Sinking Sands. GREY! So I guess killing mobs within your level range isn't the only way you can get a card or pack..odd. I didn't know they would drop off grey mobs. Maybe I should go kill a bunch of lvl 20 orcs in Commonlands eh?In conclusion I just want to say that if this is supposed to be a promotional weekend for the TCG, then I think you guys disappointed us bigtime. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, should have looted something this weekend. There is 11 1/2 hours left I suppose to go try some more, but as of right now, I am pretty dissapointed SOE. I sure would like some cards to help me defeat that impossible scenario 14.

i'd like to chime in and say i too am very disapointed in  the promootional weekend also and they way it being handled.

i likelon and thinkit quite fun and even bought a booster to register for tournament play.

but i have to agreee with everyone else  i dont see any significant increase in drop rates either. only time i ever looted a booster was two days after lon went live and was lucky that it just wasn't a booster but a starter deck with two boosters! and was just farming for plat for my character to bu a mount. and fri and saturday  was on the 12 hours each day and hundreds of chests later you'd think i would have gotten at least one drop! but on the bright side i did make a little over 20 plat  in loot SMILEY

on thing is for to help relieve some of the fustration. what the heck are the drop rates normaly  and what did you increase them too?? i hope it wasn't like 1 in 1000 chests increased significantly to 1 in 999.

No cards dropped after several (14+) hours online this weekend hunting for drops.  I tried named mobs, I tried farming greens, and I tried crawling through dungeons with the same result.  Tons of loot, a few master drops, some legendary items, but not a single card drop for the promotional weekend.

Many players I know are just buying them off the broker rather than hunting for them.  Was the point to put more cards out there so that the broker prices would drop, or was the point to make the drop rate so that players might actually get cards this weekend?

I can't speak for the increase rates because I have never seen a card drop for either of my two accounts.  For me, if you double zero I am still left with zero.   Maybe it is working as intended.

I'm not thrilled with the results of the LON promotion weekend.  I was hoping for more.  Each of my accounts has a booster pack I picked up to give the game a try.  I don't think I will be doing that again, and I feel like I spent the weekend hoping for a card drop or two only to be let down.  LON doesn't seem as fun after this weekend.

Maybe a quest to receive a booster pack or special card choice would have been a better way to promote the game rather than the random chance to get a drop.

The hubby & I were mentored down and SLAUGHTERING the majority of Crushbone Keep for at least 8 hours yesterday .. and .. nada, zip, zilch .. lol ..

Got some quests done, found lots of rare ?, even started on twinking out my lvl 14 Fae Templar in the Set Plate but no cards SMILEY

We've yet to see a booster or starter pack drop.  ever.  lol.

I find it funny, even on Release of LoN when everyone was saying the cards were dropping like water, we were farming T7 Writs. We blew through enough writs to ding us to G#38-40, so approx 600 mobs and no cards.

If it weren't for the fact I have seen them in Chat and on the Broker, I swear I would consider them a Rumor.  SMILEY

^^ ThisI, like many of the infuriated and frustrated posters here, went out Friday night and Saturday with great ambitions. I farmed my [Removed for Content] off all weekend and didn't get one drop for this supposed "promotion". I'm willing to bet they didn't increase the drop rates at all and, if they did, it was incredibly marginal and here's proof: The Broker. If drop rates were increased we would see a steady decline in the prices of booster packs guaranteed. Yeah...there is moderate demand for these..but a lot of people out there don't really care and just want to make money; especially at the prices the boosters are going for. On my server, the prices barely moved at all and some of the boosters/starter packs have been there all weekend so it's not like people are buying and they're getting replaced.Shame on you SOE.  "significantly increased rate of card pack drops" my [Removed for Content]. Perhaps you best go look up "significantly" in the dictionary before you think about using it in another promo.

I got the Hatred card, but I don't think I'll find much use for it. What does the switch card do?

Also: lol at increased drop rates.

Same here.  Killed an obscene amount of mobs this weekend.  How many?  So many that I managed 2 exquisite chests off TRASH mobs....and not a card or booster or deck....

Of course, when they modified the drop rates on rares a little while back, we got a ton more rares than we were "supposed" to be getting, and then they remodified it....if they have trouble with a planned modification like that, maybe they just dont have any idea how to make stuff drop in a controlled manner.

In my guild...1 Switch card, guild wide.  If there was an increased number of boosters and such dropping I would venture to say the number increased solely from an increased amount of time spent killing and people playing in anticipation of the increased drop rate, and NOT from any "significantly" increased rate.  The word significantly is really starting to [Removed for Content] me off the more I think about it.

Lies.
