Hello SMILEYI'm reasonably new to being a Brig and am curious about the advice I'm reading about switching to a one hander for raiding. I've duel wielded my way to Lvl 55 so far and I'd love for someone to explain why I would be better using a one hander on raids. Thanks in advance!

With the new changes to dual wielding, I would think that the agility line just got a nice boost. However, I haven't crunched any numbers.

i definately do more damage str/agi now, however i lost a lot of survivabilty respeccing to str/agi from str/sta. lost about 12% avoidance and about 5% mitigation. trying to balance if its worth it or not still.

I'm AGI/WIS build at the moment and love it.  Granted, I'm only 47 at this point too and not raiding (yet), but I know that the killing power she has is insane.  Also, her gear is far from top end as well...  using MC armor and treasured rapier and nothing of any real amazing sense on her jewelery.  Have nothing over an AD1 either and I'm already closing in on 300dps solo.

I've tried EoF raids both Agi/Wis spec and Str/Agi dual wield spec since GU38 and I find that it is possible for me to pull off much higher dps at times depending on the crit rate I achieve, some encounters I didn't pull off many crits and had a low dps others I had high amount of crits and had a dps 500 over my previous high. I noticed that do to the slowing effect of dual wielding that Pirate Stab was procing significantly more then it had before. Zonewide averages where about equal, in comparison to previous raids in the zone one handed.

I used to be Wis line with Cheldraks shard.

Changed to Agi spec last night keeping the shard in the primary hand and tossing GDoH in offhand.

I noticed a nice increase in DPS, especially since i'm sitting at near 30% crits with a bard in the group. And GDoH converted to a 1hander is crazy. lol.  damage spread while buffed of like ~250-2000, hehe.

I'm also new to Brigand, and was thinking about this.  I play in a duo with my wife (Warden), and I was thinking of going 1handed for the survivability. My question is I keep getting drops/quest rewards that are anything BUT round shields....So my first newbie question of the day is, does a buckler count as a round shield? or does it have to specifically be a "Round Shield"? Yeah, but you know that order changes completely based on group build. We run with 2-3 dirges and 2-3 illusionists most nights...the list is completely based on who gets which group that specific night. Swashes tend to get put where they can transfer hate, so they are sometimes underbuffed, while a Brig might end up with Dirge/Illusionist...now, that's hot.

Hey, thank you guys SMILEY Good advice all round.Oh and Telal, I use a shield on my dirge for raiding and it does specifically have to be a roundshield (booooooo), cant even be the pretty Deathtoll Flameshield.

I don't know what the deathtoll thingie ma-bob is. SMILEY  I just started playing last Friday. :/So, if i spec down the Stamina line, i will not get the shield bonuses for using a "buckler" even if it says "All Scouts" on it, beuase it isn't a "round shield" even if it is "round" in shape?  SMILEYI've actually frozen my AA spending until I figure out what I'm missing. We have 5 people all come to eq2 at the same time, so far we are playing: 2 wardens, 2 brigands and a dirge (yeah we have some alts here and there too), but those seem to be our mains.  3 of them tend to run together and are in the low 20's, my wife and i are in our high teens.  It's a pretty powerful duo so far, was just curious if adding a shield would make me easier to heal. SMILEY

Afraid not, it needs to specifically say "Roundshield", regardless of whether it is round or not lol.
