I am looking to roll a new class, maybe on a pvp server.  My main is a berserker, which sucks at soloing imo.  Can barely kill above my level at 55.  Have troubles with whites my level. What classes are the best to solo level with?  Best survivability?  Thanks!

Conjuror and necro are good for soloing but dunno if they are good on pvp. It's maybe different.

Tough to say really.. I have seen people solo on just about every class efficiently. May not be common on a few of the classes but that's where talent comes in to play. On the other side of the coin.. I get beat down pretty consistantly no matter which class I choose. But, then again.. there's a an aspect of talent there.. or lack there of. XD

Are wardens among the top needed classes for grouping?

Every group needs a healer.

Wardens have different buffs and contribute very differntly than Furies do.  But soloing is like watching paint dry.....

For me I have a Conj. and Necro and by far the best for me is Conjurer to farm things.  I love how I can pull from Toledo and my tank pet is a god..

In my years of playing this game I've never seen anyone ask specifically for a warden.  I'm sure any group is happy to get a healer of any type.

If your gonna roll on a PvP server I suggest going with a Fae or a EMOsai.  Do your wisp quest and you'll be nearly invis to everyone.  Plus it's 5% speed boost is nice when stacked with SoW.

Probably a very accurate list.  I think the Inquis could be the #3 priest.  I hear many posters stating how well their Inq can solo.

Monk and Bruiser are two of the most soloable classes in the game.  I'd say Monk is slightly better than Bruiser for soloing due to getting invis.  But they both just bulldoze their way through content and can feign death if you get in trouble.

I solo quite a bit on my Ranger.  Now I don't know if it's as good as other classes, as my next highest is a 50 monk that entirely solo'd and a 44 Paladin that mostly soloed, but...

...I really enjoy soloing on my Ranger.

My melee specced Warden is a killing machine. He can heal just fine in a group but when i'm soloing I can rip through ^^^heroics very fast with 0 risk of death. Nothing close to watching paint dry. Infact his damage is comparable to my melee Inquisitor. If you want paint drying you have to play a defiler. Now that's slow.

my warden has run speed of 60 percent ...thanks to AAs, my racial boost and jboots. She is also melee spec and can easily survive encounters with multiple mobs. Now leveling my temp to 36 solo was def watching paint dry...

Furies solo better then wardens IMO. And its easy for me to solo as a fury, I can take out just about anything.

[in no particular order]

PvP top solo classes: check the PvP Discussion forum for number of nerfs posts- rangers, wardens, furies, shadowknights, bruisers, monks, swashbuckler, brigand

PvP worst solo classes: check /recent- necros, conjurers, illusionists, coercers, inquisitors, templars, palladins

PvP good grouping classes and maybe new solo stars:- wizard, warlock, troubador, dirge

debatable:- berserker, guardian, assassin, mystic, defiler

I play a healing spec'd warden, actually two of them - one 17 and the other 26. I don't care if spells do take long (a whole 2 seconds), I still solo quite effectively and can find lots of different uses for my AAs.

As for grouping, I don't have problems finding a group; sometimes too many.

In a group, imo, I'm supposed to be rooting the target, and healing - not running around meleeing everyone. My biggest pet peave is when the [usually] furies call for healing.

Unfortunately, due to my unique work schedule and my lack of enthusiasm playing with unexperienced players, which is my luck when randomly grouped, I've solo'd all of my 7 toons from level 1 to current levels...  (EQ2 account, since Nov .2004, with a 9 month break in 2006)This is my breakdown of class/race choices: 70 Paladin/High Elf - easiest solo toon; pretty good melee, decent damage dealer, survivable healing spells45 Mystic/Halfling - All around decent spells and backup pet and a poke here and there with her 1h/spear45 Monk/Half Elf - great DPS and excellent drama queen when FDing....lol43 Ranger/Wood Elf - great DPS too41 Fury/Gnome - Just figuring out that this toon will level fast as my Pally, excellent damage and DoT spells35 Conjurer/Froggy - good Pet class, annoying hop though...24 Coercer/Arasai - tough toon, although I'm currently in betrayal mode....everything is scaled to current level. lol(this doesn't mean that these are the best classes, they're just the classes I picked when I was creating a toon..my mood of the day....SMILEY)

I beg to differ with the inquisitors being amongst the worst pvp classes. In my experience inquisitors are nastier than sks if well played.

I once soloed an epic x2 on my SK when she reached level 30, but this was a very long time ago (2005?). LU13 had just been released when I did it. It was a very weak x2 encounter. The epic tag on the encounter was probably due to the fact that it came with about 6 heroic adds because the boss was a real wimp. I killed each add one by one, feigning death in between kills, until only the named and one weak add was left. My SK had a full set of T4 mastercrafted, a few key spells mastered, and used potions. At the end, I was at about 20% health and no power. The boss dropped nothing. I received about 4% exp for killing him. I have no idea if this feat can be duplicated today with all the changes that have been brought to the game since LU 13, but my SK is still one of my favorite solo classes to play, and one of the most powerful.

As good as my SK is as a soloer, by far the best soloer I have played is my illusionist. Even though the illusionist can't kill any epics of any kind, he can kill insanely hard heroic ^^^ mobs that no other class can handle solo.

Second best, in terms of killing really hard mobs, is my wizard under certain conditions. Followed closely by my necro under other certain conditions. When I say "hard" mobs, I mean named ^^^ heroics, even con or yellow. For the blue named heroics, any number of classes can solo them under ideal conditions for their class.

People claim to be able to solo orange named ^^^ heroics, but I seriously doubt it. Show me pictures or I'll assume you are full of crap. Best I've been able to solo are orange ^^ named (hard arena champ before they nerfed him). As for soloing green epic x2's, I've done it myself on my SK and have pictures to show for it so I know it can be done. But I'd like to know how a necro did it.

It took my Warden about 30+ AA points before it wasn't like watching paint dry while soloing. I can't put Coercer on top of the mage solo list, because their DPS is so low, and increasing it requires high risk and having a caster pet. They can do some amazing things, but grinding out xp is not one of them.
