Is the final reward on this quest worth it or is there something better?

It's a crap imo. The damage rating is horrible (~56.7). The damage spread is horrible (max/min =3). The weapon delay is horrible (1.6 delay). It's really sad that we get a crap weapon after a long series quests.

strange proc, decent stats and pita to get. other comparable weapons right in the broker for some coins tho. right now the questline mobs aren't longtime camps anymore and ph's give will give you updates. for the people doing the questline now the reward is "okay" but for the people who did it before they gimped the quests the reward was (and still is) nothing really special which it should be. it's not even a "questline for non-raiders to get something fabled" because you get to raid for it either. they should at least change the delay/dmg somehow to make it worthwhile for buffed monks with haste maxed out.

Not saying Marr's Fist is spectacularly good, but feel free to list any weapons that actually better. Only the Twin Calamites come to mind, but they don't have the +5 defense if you want to tank.

The main reason I'm even bothering to do the claymore quest is for the jewelry you get from it's sub-quests.

I'd have to agree.  Defensively its a pretty decent weapon.  Stat wise, I think the Scepter of Destruction is probably better, but it drops off of contested mobs that most aren't going to have access to.

DPS wise, I don't use it and go with the high damage TC and Wurmslayer combo.

You probably mean the "Hands of Destruction" wich drops from Princes in Barren Sky, the Scepter of Destruction drops from Tarinax in DT...

same But I've heard they are making the quests different - something about phs giving updates as well as the names.  May be pie in the sky, but I'm holding off finishing until the next big update.

That's already in game.

I like it for tanking and some soloing, but I wouldn't use it for dpsing.
