So far Qeynos, Antonica, Freeport, and Commonlands only have weather. I was curious if they should expand all of that to the other outdoor zones. It would be interesting, but thats just my opinion. I thought what would the others say about Weather in outdoor zones?

Yeah Everfrost have snow flurries... I may be off, but doesn't Lavastorm sometimes have ash?

I don't think Everfrost/Lavastorm has any changing weather... they have snow flakes / raining ash all the time, with flurries in some places (like the mountain pass leading up into Everfrost on the western side of the docks). I, too, would like more weather, like rain in Feerrott, mist and thunder in the Thundering Steppes, etc. It would be even more fun if weather had an effect on the game, like rain decreasing power regen or thunderstorms giving a boost to elemental spells.

More weather in general would be good. Doesn't even have to be magical weather SMILEY

Weather is good (raining, etc.), but not too often. I don't like it to always rain (or feels like it always is raining). So, don't put the raining on a daily basis (ingame time), it should be random and not too often.

It needs to be able rain in all zones IMO, and snow in "mountain" ish zones. TS at least, maybe Antonica, Butcherblock, Steamfont.

Weather adds a lot to an area. It would be cool to have weather in all zones. What would they do in SS and PoF? Sandstorms? It could rain out there like....twice a year, lol. That would be kinda cool if you happened to be in the desert on one of the days it was raining.

If thunder increased spells, I know where I'd be! *fury*

I really think it's great when it rains, even though some complain that it makes it too hard to see. It's always dissapointing to me when I return to Big Bend from EoF and it's pouring down there but there's no possibility of that where I've just come from. Obviously the code for weather exists in the game, so it couldn't be that difficult to port it over to other zones, could it?

I'd like to see snow in some of the temperate zones also. Antonica, Enchanted Lands, Steppes, etc. Since I started using Fetish UI there is a display on-screen showing what day and month it is ... feels a bit odd to be in the month of 'Deepice' and everything is still green.

Weather change would be sweet to have and see in the other zones. 'constant' weather like it is in Lavastorm and Everfrost in my opinion isn't true weather as true weather comes and goes. Also, it would be neat to see rain effect water surfaces like lakes/ponds/rivers

Sinking Sands has little dust storms or tornados that toss your charactor up into the air. If they are going to add more environment effects it should be like that. Weather should be more then just making the screen blurry, it should actually affect gameplay. Make surfaces become slippery when wet or icy. Have a rare mob that only spawns only when it rains or something.

I agree with the pro-weather posts. Additionally, how cool would it be if a zone, TS for instance, would become snow covered during Norrath's winter months? I think that would be sweet.

Though while I like the changing weather - why does it have to rain and be all dark and gloomy looking inside of our homes? I mean come on! WE'VE GONE INSIDE! I know it has to have something to do with the fact that I have an outside patio but while in the upstairs room or main room - why all rainy and gloomy? ( this is true for both Qeynos and Freeport multi room homes.

I think more weather would be great i would love to see it snow in Antonica.  but i think weather should affect the whole enviornment like different mobs apear for example in winter all the bears disapear.... i think catistrophc weather would be cool like a 1 in 1000 chance that Ferrot will freeze over for 4 weeks  and spawn a epic named or some thing i think that would bbe cool

Really love the idea. Also, depending on the cold or the heat your cold/heat mitigation could change. Even the power of cold/heat spells would be affected by the weather.

Sounds like a lot of work, but an interesting idea.  The problem with boosting/hurting cold/heat based spells is that this only helps/hurts certain classes.  Poison/Disease casters won't be affected.  I do like the idea of constantly changing weather affecting the eniorvment...  truding slower through snow than a field, Druids can be able to stop the rain like in EQ1, certain types of mobs (and nameds) only coming out during certain seasons...

Since we are brainstorming anyway, I think having the season/environment affect spellcasting is a great idea. This could easily be taken a few steps further:

1. Cold based spells get a bonus when used in a cold weather environment. (The inhabitants of Everfrost would likely have higher cold resists whereas critters in the Thundering Steppes would likely be weakened.

2. Fire based spells get a bonus while in a hot environment. (See the possible environmental consideration in suggestion #1.)

3. Disease spells would get a bonus in a jungle/marsh/swamp environment.

4. Nature type spells get bonuses durning spring.

5. Death type spells get a bonus during fall/harvest.

6. The subterranean races (Dark Elves, Ratonga, Dwarves, Gnomes, etc.) get bonuses at night, penalties during daylight.

7. Surface races get bonuses durning the day, and penalties at night.

8. Humans get no bonuses/penalties for time of day.

(It might work better for balance reasons on PvP servers to give darkies bonuses at night and lighties bonuses during the day regardless of race. Would make a darned interesting dynamic.)

9. Rangers get stealth/track bonuses in the wilderness whereas assassins get stealth/track bonuses in towns/cities. (Then put some dark alleys in the cities where assassins can lurk around to prey upon the unwary.)

10. Make necromantic/evil inquisitor spells more powerful at night and cleric spells more powerful during daylight hours.

Some of this may be in play already as far as I know I was just throwing out a buncha suggestions which would have the overall effect of forcing players to be more aware of their environment.
