![]() I am trying to make a kind of a group play guide for my guild mates. Just because we are from Russia English is not our best skill. So making links to this forum is not an option for me. For now I decided to formulize a questing of what we need. If someone would be that nice to share his experience, we will greatly appreciate this. The question is: What your class needs from your party for the best effectiveness and fun? For example as an illusionist I would say this. I'd like my party never awake any mob that was mezzed except one that targeted by tank. Also I'd like to ask casters save their mass DOTs for the moment when I finished mezzing. Other than that I am pretty much self-efficient. Thanks in advance, you make this game better. P.S.: Links to according resources are fine too. |

Referring back to your illusionist example, not so much class specific but more of a general guideline, maybe talk about making a macro button where the illusionist toon announces to the group which mob he has mezzed. Also perhaps tanks could make a similar macro button to announce to the group which mob he is on so that everyone knows which mob to concentrate on and assist him, and an assist button for each team member so that they can concentrate on the same mob. |

![]() There are some pretty simple things that go for anyone in any class. No one but the tank should be breaking mezzes, and they should only be doing it after a taunt. Group members should assist the main tank(or main assist if you are in a situation where one is called for). Making an assist key is often helpful, as a tank (particularly some classes with few aoe taunts) might have to switch targets frequently to keep them all agroed on himself. This way your group stays on a mob until it is dead instead of having 3-4 almost dead mobs continuing to beat on the tank, sucking the healer's power. If you wipe don't go running off before people have a chance to rebuff etc. If you are a pet class, it's best to put your pet on peace mode and send it in to attack on each mob seperately so they don't run amuck. Be careful with tab targeting. It doesn't always give you the closest mob, sometimes you will get a mob across the room and if you fire on it/fling a spell at it you can bring on a world of trouble for your group. Crowd control should be used wisely. Not every group will benifit from mezzing on every encounter. For example a group with a berserker, warlock, necro, mystic, fury or some such might just as soon there be no mezzing so they can go AOE and kill things faster. Use AOE wisely. If you are in cramped quarters it might be best to stick with green aoes and single target spells only, nothing blue or you risk bringing half a zone down upon you. A big one here, agro control is EVERYONE in the groups' job, not just the tank. If you find you are drawing agro, 1) use your deagro 2) pull off the damage a little, space it out more 3) let the tank know you are doing that and your deagro has been used ,particularly in the case of healers since theirs is such a long recast, (in case he's falling asleep at the wheel and just not taunting). Don't stray too far from the group unless you are the one pulling. Wandering group members can cause nasty wipes and hard feelings. On a similar note, beware of the glowie ?'s. Some zones they are trapped. This can be big trouble for the unprepared group. In other zones even though they may not be trapped, they may be in range of large groups of agro mobs. Also very bad for the unprepared group. It's much better to get those as a group, than have someone run over pick it up and train the group. Fight over, kill the mobs, have someone collect it and random it among group members. Everyone gets a shot, no training and group wipes. I'm sure if I sat here longer I could think of some more, but these are some of the basics =). |
