Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! My friend wanted me to play and I've been trying all week to find a copy in the stores. I'm a bit iffy about ordering anything online, because I live in an apartment building and it's not exactly guaranteed that I'd ever get it. Anyway, this is exactly what I was waiting for.

![]() Nicely done . Now all we need is an option to download seperate updates without having to pay for the whole game .. When they come not 6 months later. I do like this but i still have a grudge on the "one expansion without any other expansions equally priced to full retail" mentality . Yours Brorim |

I know it's been a loooong standing issue and we, the players, don't know why the distribution is so bad for Echoes of Faydwer. http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=367779 http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=361905 You probably aren't allowed to tell us but I'm guessing it isn't worth the money to market anymore (months after its release), retailers/distributors don't want to order any more, or marketing can't/won't pay for retail shelf placement now. BUT, you should tell those people that it's the #1 seller on Direct2Drive now (7/10/2007), selling better than WoW (the base game-- they don't carry TBC) and all their other games. If Direct2Drive doesn't sell to anyone outside the US it would be really nice if someone else would. I always buy my games at the Fry's Electronics in Burbank, about 5 minutes away from my house, but it's pretty sad to read about so many people that can't buy the game anywhere. ![]() I think a lot of it is a bias towards console games. You have to keep in mind that the people who control what goes on the shelves in the store are the buyers for those companies. So you've got someone who sits at a desk, may or may not play video games at all, choosing what to buy based off of market figures. Consoles are huge right now (although I believe PC games might be picking up again). So they aren't going to give as much shelf time to anything but the hugest name out there, which, right now is WoW. It isn't so much SOE falling down on the job... We just need to inflitrate all of the corporate offices and get EQ2 players into positions to get the shelves stocked |

Why didn't you announce you were putting this out? I purchaed the Digital download for EOF about 1 month ago for the same price. Now I find if had just waited a month (and i would have had there been any indication you were doing this) I would have received the other 2 xpacks. Now I am either forced to purchase the other 2 expacks or wait for ROK. Don't get me wrong, I think its great your doing this, but I can not help but feel cheated somewhat. That said, any chance of making the KOS, DOF free to download for those who purchased before this announcement?

Thats like asking the travel industry for a refund after purchasing tickets and finding out the price dropped the next day. Not many businesses announce a future price reduction a month ahead of time.

![]() First it is not a price reduction. SOE is making it possible to purchase online what can not be found in stores, which is what we have been asking for. Since SOE gave no indication they were going to provide the bundle for download, those of us who could not find the retail version were forced to pay for each individual expack if we wanted the content. Had Sony been thoughtful enough to let us in on this little secret, some of us would have held off. And guess what some places do provide a refund on the difference if they lower the price on something you just purchased which is the case here. Not that expect SOE to do that, but it is done. |

When you are negosiating a contract with someone there is ALWAYS upfront a NDA to prevent unfair compition and to keep from tiping-off competitors. Infact in the US until the "Ink is Dry" on ANY agreement between companies you CAN NOT legilly(its a civil not criminal legality(unless one of the companies is publicly traded)) tell anyone about it. |

I've spoke about this problem in the Trial forum where I started. I really like what they've done to EQ2 and was an avid WoW fan until I came back to this game. What saddens me is the fact that, even though the expansion all-in-one was only released recently, none of us in the UK can get this version. I've tried every online shop, local shop, drive download site I could find, and can only find a limited amount of copies in Canada, Australia (!) and the US with extremely high shipping charges. The fact is SOE, you have returning players who WANT to play, but are finding it hard to get hold of the game without going the route of paying over $100 to get all the expansions. Please, can someone at SOE read this and understand that you have a returning bunch of players (some of my friends have shown an interest, I know it's not much..but it's there!) who really want to play your game! We actually want to GIVE you money

Just don't follow the link on the Trial Page it goes to EQ2:Classic wich D2D no longer sells, instead Brouse to the MMO listing and look for EQ2 all in one pack. The all in one pack was ONLY release thru Direct 2 Drive itself, the only other way to get it is to get the Retail Box version of the expaintion wich has been out for nearly a year and is even getting hard to find at many game shops here in the US though Best Buy and Fry's Electronics always seems to have a few copies. |

Yeah I tried Direct2Drive but I don't think it is for us UK customers as it comes up with an error message. Nonetheless a new guildmate told me of this site today, and I got my key for EOF today! And am downloading as I type

Awesome find! You cannot quote me as officially stating the gospel, but I *think* the D2D package is/was sort of an exclusive lead-in for people. Which means it could roll out to more and more online retailers after the agreement (which I'm not sure of, or the terms) ends. Like I said, don't quote me...

I think its because it's trying to link to EQ2:Classic wich it does not appear D2D is selling anymore, it should link to this page instead, I think thats where most of the complants about D2D being "out" or getting an "error" is comming from. |

This brings up a good point. Is there anywhere that people can download the installation files for the game without having to buy a from D2D or any other retailer? I've bought the game but would like to house the install files on my file server so I don't lose the media. (Serves as a backup) I know that I can just make a copy of my EQ2 dir and use that, but I'm a bit "Monkish" about my installs. Thanks,

I wouldn't mind finding a full download of all the installation files for individual expansion packs. Heck, they should make it a torrent or something similar. Since you must have an account key to play one would think that it wouldn't be an issue. |
