Does anyone have walkthrough and / or strat information for Freethinkers and the other EoF Raid Zones?

Raidwiki hasn't been updated in quite some time, so is useless for finding information on the EoF raid zones.

If you speak german, you can find a lot of information in our Forum: http://abc.vm-netz.de/aphadrim/e107...iewforum.php?17 It's not up to date, hadn't much time lately. But FTh should be complete and also infos on other EoF Zones.

The better way is to go to FTH, and make your own srats.

If you can't provide clean and constructive advice to other players when they ask for help - do not post.

What is the minimum amount of DPS needed to take down Othysis?

Our guild has been hit pretty hard by summertime breaks.  We can only muster about 12 guildies to join a raid and have to reqruit from the public chat channels.  *shiver*  As a result we rarely have any utility (either chanter, bard or rogues) but have a ton of predators and sorcs.  Anyways our DPS has suffered a lot without the utility.  Our last attempt at Othysis we got around 16k dps sustained before the x2 epic adds were too much for the healers to handle.  Got him down to 30% before the wipe.  We figure if we could get 20k dps that should be enough to drop Othysis and finish off the x2 adds.

Our strat is simple enough.  We have a brawler stand near the portal with a hotkey macro ready to target the preservers as soon as they spawn.  He's the MA.  As soon as one spawns he target and raid kills of the preserver quick, then quickly targets back to Othysis.  The MT targets and aggros the x2 when they spawn.  It looks like the x2 spawns every 35 seconds.

This strat works well (we used it in the past before we had such terrible attendence problems.)  But it seems like without the DPS it won't work.  So I'm kinda curious what the minimum raid DPS would be.  If we can estimate we won't have enough by the start of the raid we won't waste our time and just hit up some KoS raid or something.

One thing is having your whole raid kill the mob. It takes time for all the dps to shift over to the Preservers. The Mages have to get their targets and wait a few seconds before nuking (to avoid aggro) and the Scouts (exception of the Ranger) have to run out to engage. Better bet is to just have the Brawler, his healer and one or two DPS out there with him for adds and they can pop in some damage on Othysis after killing an add. I can't speak for Scouts, but when you force Mages to shift their targets like that, it messes up spell chains and lowers DPS. Sorcerers see the biggest hits with their cast order getting screwed up and Summoners don't do burst damage to a mob like that and are better to be kept on Othysis for sustained high dps. We simply use a Monk, Inquisitor and Dirge to take out the Preservers, with the Assassin in their group on standby if they need help. The rest of the DPS stays on Othysis. But that's just my advice. I can't relate to your situation, with a full team of active raiders and over 30k dps on Othysis (my personal is usually 3k-3.5k on him).

Have an off tank and a healer or two pick up the adds - don't waste your power trying to kill them, just pull them off the raid.  Everyone else burn down the name ASAP.  The adds disappear when the name dies.  We usually have the name dead by the time the second set of adds pop, but it could still easily be done by the time the 3rd or even 4th set pops.  Just need a good off tank that can target quickly and pull them away from the rest of the raid.  He doesn't hit that hard - keep him debuffed - and don't worry about aggro.  Heal through the mob (as usual), and actually it's good if aggro gets around, so less adds spawning.

First I would like to thank all of you that were kind enough to provide some information.  For those that prefer flaming, let me explain why I posted.  I really wasn't looking for a way to make it easy, but more what to expect.  CLAW is a member of alliance of smaller guilds on Najena, that do not have the numbers to field raid forces on our own.  Know some of what we are getting into and being prepared helps.  We made several attempts, but get stuck at the 2nd named.  This is due in part to the classes we have available and what our alliance members choose to bring.

All of us thank you for posting and helping where you can.  EQ2 has a great community of players and this just shows it even more.

Shedder isn't the problem for us, it's that bloody vampire, that spawns the adds.

Have an OT group pick up the adds, and have 3 other groups burn her down.
