I believe that was the one that was a reward for filling out some survey they were running a few weeks ago. It borked up on me when I was trying to take it, so I didn't get the staff myself, but a guildie has it.

It's the Great Staff of the Sun Serpent. It has +4 to each stat, +10 health and +10 power. Magic Affinity, Two handed Crushing, 5.7 damage rating, 2.3 second delay, and its a level 2. It was from filling out a survey. Its nice for noobs and purty to boot!

That's not the serpent staff, the serpent staff looks like the staff of second life, with a glistening cobra head at the end of it.

That looks like a staff that drops from the Pries of Fear in Unrest, The Rune-Carved Bone Staff

if not as this is exsactly Double(more then Double in Focus) that and has a Proc I would not say that this 2-handed Weopon sucks espcially if you have the compimentery AA.

Also the sun serpent staff was not from a Servay it was from going to one of the EoF "Launch Parties" at LAN shops that took place about 2 weeks after launch and had very few attendees as like always the Marketing of it was poor at best and like I said was a "Launch Party" that took place well after the title launched.

Actually, thats about as good as grizzfazzles. 2nd, most sorcerers/chanters use an empty secondary for an AA. Also, using grizzfazzle's mage 1h and a good secondary would be better than using that staff /shrug. Just my opinion. aITEM 1216595027 971256786:Grizzfazzle's Walking Stick/a Actually, Grizzfazzle's has a MUCH better proc for a mage, along with a secondary slot item, it just blows that staff away IMO.

I love how they give the awsome graphics to stuff that anybody can get and leave the crappy ones for the high end raid zone loot.

Actually, the sun serpent one was from a servey. I did it and got it. No party for me.

Perhaps not, but I would consider that to suck for most of the secondary slot items that I have available to me.  I have a number of items that have +30 int, +100 or more power and I can put an adornment on a symbol that gives +5 subjugation/+5 disruption.  Can't do that with a staff.

I wouldn't say that it is junk, but there is nicer stuff out there in raid zones.  For players that don't raid at all, this might be the best staff in the game for mages.

Since about half of the mages (Illu, Wizard, Warlock) need their off hand free for AA choices I would say the wand from Unrest is a much better choice.

Personally I still prefer Grizzfazzle's and an offhand since that's 2 procs and 2 adornments you can get, but at least this staff is getting MUCH closer to what a reasonable 2H mage staff should be.
