I'm looking for a good 1h weapon to use with Animal Form.  Everyone says to get one with a low delay for maximum effectiveness.  I'm level 62. Well, currently I am using 2h weapons, have an imbued xegonite maul, and have the Blackscale Maul waiting for me with the fire DOT adornment. Well, by that token the blackscale maul would be the worst weapon to use for this ability due to an 8.0 sec delay. I'm looking for: A 1h weapon that has +wis and +int, and is a hammer (for spell crits).  I'm not seeing anything on the broker, other than maybe an ebony club, which I'd rather not bother with.  Ancient Velium Rod would be great if it were a hammer and not a staff. I dont raid, so recommending a fabled no-trade probably won't be in my future.  Any suggestions?  agressiv

Well I have a few things on your dilemma, I'll assume that you don't have a lot of access to fabled no-trade from raids and only talk about weapons that are available on the broker or through heroic encounters.

First, the Ancient Velium Rod is a staff not a hammer so it's not a bad 1h if you looking for a staff with both Wis and Int but you prob. better off with Godking Staff (its Epic questline but its t6 so at level 70 its totally doable for someone tht doesn't raid) in that case.

I use a hammer when I solo or plan to do DPS and a staff when I'm healing and I find switching them out works best for me.   As such, I use Element's Call (attuneable, drops in MM Castle) with 30 Int, +25 to Nova/Tempest and it reduces their power.   Also Grizzfazzle's Mace (quested, bonemire) is a nice 1H hammer with a better proc than I've seen on any legendary hammer.  Both of these serve nicely as a hammer of choice if you are trying to rack up the dps.

The op was looking for a hammer with both stats on it which is a somewhat harder problem.   If you absolutely MUST use a hammer as your primary weapon and you want to have both Wis and Int, then Immortality's Weight (attuneable, drops in MM Castle) is your weapon.  It has 3 sta, 24 wis and 17 int plus a +15 to healing spells.  The Primal Seer's Hammer is another options with slightly better stats to Immortality's Weight but there are no procs or effects and I have no clue how to get it.

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll check em out.  Being Level 62, I'm assuming Mistmoore is currently out of the question, but should be attainable, at least if I get a pickup group SMILEY  I dont see myself duo'ing named in that zone with a bruiser and a fury, even at 70.  Maybe some trash.... Grizzfazzle just has +WIS SMILEY  I'm actually on the quest to kill Godking with the peacock line (along with the steps in the quest before it) - but I thought the scepter was WIS and the wand was INT - but not both.  Anyways, I'd have to find an open raid to get it (and they'd have to be willing to do the epic stuff before him, along with eye farming) I wanted the hammer for the spell crits - thats it.  When duo'ing, 90% of the time I'm nuking, cause the bruiser self heal  is usually good enough for the whole fight.  A single heal, or maybe two, is all that I need, even on blue heroics, so heal crits aren't that important to me. You'd think it would be the opposite - a hammer would have heal crits (priests use hammers), and a staff would have spell crits (mages use staves) But in any case,  I'll check out the Element's Call, the Immortality's Weight, and Primal Seer's Hammer.  Thanks a bunch! EDIT: Element' Call just has INT, Immortality's Weight looks great, Primal Seer's Mace drops off of epic mobs in bonemire. Right now my 2H xegonite maul is pretty good, +40 wis and +40 int - and I can even use it at 62 SMILEY  I'll have it double-proc'ed when LU32 comes out as well.  I'll probably check out the Rod since its actually on the broker and affordable (none of the others are, and I dont see contested epics in bonemire dropping loot that will be on the broker anytime soon) - but the info is great, I definitely appreciate it! agressiv

ther is no one anwser.. . and if ther was would prob no trade.. hehe

I really liked the flexablity of the rod but check out the other "ancient velium" weapons as well. .the others have str and/or agi.

If it has to be a hammer.. Ancient Velium Battlehammer +20str +10sta +20wis +1 def +2 crush 1.3 delay (46 times a min)(68.4 rating) and a proc

Legendary: Ancient Velium Rod +20 int, +20 wis, +10 agi... +2 cruching +1 def  1.3 delay (68.4 rating) with a damage proc Ancient Velium Shortsword +20 str +20 sta +10 agi +80 healht +45 power +1 def +2 slash 1.3 dealay and 698 rating and proc

Mastercrafted pristine imbued forged xegonite scimitar  +23 wis , + 23 int, +18 power, 1.4 sec delay  (42 times a min)(57.7 damage rating) Quested: Grizzfazzle's mace is +27 sta +27 wis +6 ordination and hostile spell proc with a delay of 1.2 ( 50 times a min)  and (59 rating)

note when we use animal form we are not casting any spells... melee. .so hostle spell procs, hammer and int do not really do us any good.. I guess i should have looked at a legendary item with str... and a proc

for ref: Elemement's call +15 sta +30 int 1.6 delay [element's call buff + upto 50 damage on elemental spells and -25 on the cost]68.9 rating Immortality's  Weight +3 sta, +24 wis, +17 int, +75 health, +110 power  healing pulse III  1.6 delay and 67.8 rating Primal seer's mace +10 str +18 sta +26 wis +18 int, +80 health +80 power +2 focus 1.6 delay ( 37 times a min)70 rating

I generally use one of two weapons. Either the Grizzlefazzle staff or: Ardent Scimitar of the Krangoris LEGENDARY Lore No Trade +23 Wisdom +14 Intelligence +80 mana +45 health +3 disruption One-Handed Slash Damage: 25 - 75 (62.38 Rating) Delay: 1.6 Weight 2.5 It drops in the dungeon on the Isle of Marra.

If you are using Animal form for DPS then a 2handed weapon works out just as well. If you are using it to gain power back tehn looking for a low delay dual wield sword might even be an option. You can switch out weapons even while stifled so finding a high strength scout weapon and switching it with your main weapon each time you use animal form is do-able. As noted you wont be casting spells while using animal form and therefore high intelligence on the weapon is pointless.

No one ever seems to remember this, and unless something's changed in the short while I've been gone this still holds true: People, you can use your club to get the spell crit bonus when you cast the buff then switch over to any other weapon and it won't change until you actually die and/or recast the spell. Think this is about the 4th time I've mentioned this SMILEY. Hope that maybe helps a bit on letting you choose whatever weapon you want.

I thought it did change when you changed weapons... I very well could be wrong though. I have been using a sword to get tiger form, then switching to a staff or a hammer to get the other benifets, depending on the situation. If this is incorrect please let me know... I'll just have to suffer as a tree or a dog SMILEY.
