![]() I am looking for a pci (not express) graphics card that will run everquest 2 while my laptop is getting repaired. I read the list of cards that are supposed to be supported. I'm just looking for the cheapest 256 mb pci card that will work. From newegg, in stock, are either another geforce fx 5200 that is listed as directx 9 compatable and has 4 pixel pipelines? is that enough? There is also a "SAPPHIRE 100114 LB Radeon 9250 256MB 128-bit DDR PCI Video Card " which is on the list of cards supported by eq2, yet the newegg listing only shows directx 8 compatable. Would one of those work? I've always gone with nvidia before. All the pci radeons seem to only list directx 8 compatable on newegg. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm tired of not being able to play. |

They will both work, but neither very well... both will run the game on extreme performance. --Ruab

Thanks for the reply. We went out shopping and found that one of the Radeon 9250's descriptions said it was designed for DirectX 8.1 but DX9 compatable. It only has 128mb of ram but I don't expect much of it. I don't care what the game looks like so long as it functions. EQ2 is more like a second job than anything else. Though I do enjoy the game mechanics quite a bit.
