I am a raiding necro with all masters except my Nightshade.  I have always used the scout. My AA lines are AGI 4448 and WIS 44481  and INT 10000.

I've been toying with the idea of respecing to use my master mage pet.  I have always topped, to this day, the raid parses with my scout.  Have there been any significant changes that would lean me toward respecing?

I used to do the same, my magepet only got to work with large encounters (>3) and when ae were to be expected. Respeced before GU31 from str 4488 agi 4448 int 5 to str 4448 wis 44481 int 1 and the ae immunity was nice to play with. Sometimes jousting just didn't work and with Deathtoll gazers, Mutagenic Outcast, Matron, Clockwork Menace and so on my pet stayed alive longer. Plus, the magepet seemed to out-dps the scout with this setup, even against single mob encounters. After GU31 I changed to str 4448 int 54481 and haven't regretted it yet, dps has gone up and the magepet won't run oom. I still top parses, the only sad aspect is that I hardly ever use my scout anymore. Versatility has been lost, imho it should still be the superior DD against single mob encounters without/with small ae.

Before LU31 went live I was scout pet all the way, but since it has came out I have respec my aa's and now use the mage pet 100% of the time raiding. Its nice to have a pet that rarely runs out of pwr and doesnt die to AE's constantly by running into melee range.

Are you seeing much of an increase with the STR line crit % increase?  After reading the forums there seems to be peeps for it and against it.  I'd hate to put 20 points into it for just a few point increase.

Imho it's the only way to top parses, i.e. get 1600+ ext dps zonewide. If you're more the kind that sends the pet in and goes for a cup of tea, you might see better results from wis and int  SMILEY

After respecing my AAs away from the crits and losing the UT and swarm pet recast bonuses, I lost about 8% of my dps. Large, but not 100% necessary (I gained a TON of soloing capability in exchange).

Yes, but do you attribute the loss due to the change from the crit %...   or the change from the Gravecalling line?  I would think Gravecalling would have more of an effect there than the crit %.
